Description
Use the snails to navigate from page to pageIve used Adobe flash Cs3 animating these. Put it all together in Cs5 because im to lazy to transfere the code my friend made for me xD
NOW there is a lot more detailed info about what is what and so on, but I dont think I would get room for all that in here. There are rules upon rules for what a keyframe is and you have breakdowns xD BUT im not going into details. What I suggest for people who really want to get serious about animating and learning all the basic things is to buy a book called
The Animators survival kit by Richard williams. The animated version is more amazing, so if you are able to rent it at a library DO IT [link] All the things you need to know is in there xD
I just explained some stuff in this, hope it is helpfull for someone. *0* ignore typos

So inbetween you put the same frames right?

13gothMoth In reply to foxyfool [2012-12-30 18:25:41 +0000 UTC]
No, the in-between frames transition from one main pose to the next. So, if your character is sitting in the first keyframe and standing in the second, the in-between frames will be him going through the motions of getting up. If all your in-between frames are the same, it will be very choppy-looking.

he means do you just repeat the same pictures for the frames to make it smoother?

griffsnuff In reply to MaskedPsychopath [2012-12-30 18:30:37 +0000 UTC]
xD noo you need to draw a new frame if you want an animation to be smoother. the areas were a frame is held longer is just to make the timing better.

oh ok!! how long does it take you to animate roughly though?

griffsnuff In reply to MaskedPsychopath [2012-12-30 18:32:45 +0000 UTC]
depends on what I animate, sketching doesnt take that long, its the lineart and coloring that takes forever x3

I would imagine! I don't think I'd have the patience to re lineart everything and color every frame.

I love how animation works--I am afraid I would not get enough continuity between pix to get animation looking right, though......

Well thats some good info. Ill be sure to remember that when i start animating.
I guess I like the second one more though. I guess its because it has a more natural timing, by that I mean it has some average speed, but its movement isn't smooth. I say it should be smooth like the first one, but at a more natural pace like the second one.

Great tutoria Snuff!
I own a copy of the animator's survival kit and I agree it really is a great book! I usually forget to do key frames, then inbetweens, and just animate as I go, but I'm going to try out this method, it looks a lot easier and definitely a lot better.

xD you dont haaave to, but if you want to play around with timing, try to vary the frames.
