but one quick inquiry, if your light source is blue, then would the shadow be orange? Or if your light source was purple, yellow shadow then? Seems kind of odd...
Probably a stupid question I know...

Yes, if you have blue ish light, your shading will be really brown is, which is what orange turns into if you darken it * remember to keep the shading dark and light, light x3

at first: your tutorial is great! and you're excellent at explaining those things!
but if i look at red, the complementary color i see on white ground is cyan, not green. this is the reason, that there is a new colorcircle (after KΓΌppers) with 'true' complementary colors (the old one is after Itten)

red --> cyan
yellow-->blue
green-->purple

Hm i dont think paint have the layer option, unless its the newest, they should have layers. ive never used it before.
