For now, Look at Fig. 10. If anything on the previous page is still a bit much, you can use such a thing to help. The square is 10X10 spaces. Point A is 10 spaces from the top right corner of the square; Point D is 9 spaces; and Point C is 11 spaces. See how you get a taller and shorter rectangle by drawing lines from the bottom right corner?

Try drawing a point 20 spaces from the top right corner of the square and drawing the diagonal line. You'll end up with a squat rectangle only 5 spaces tall.

Draw a point only 5 spaces from the top right corner. That will give you a rectangle 20 spaces high! This way, you can easily see the idea here at work.
