Description For this page, we’ll try drawing a simple building using two vanishing points. This is very much like the block we did back with figures 1 through 4- in fact, it’s almost exactly like it, but with extras.

As before, you draw a horizontal line- the horizon- and put in two vanishing points, although this time try putting line 1 to the left of center, and most of it above the horizon as shown. Connect the top and bottom of line 1 to the vanishing points. You should have something like in Fig. 9; if it is not exactly like it, don’t worry.

Once again, draw in a vertical line to the left (line 3) and a vertical line to the right (line 2) of line 1, but this time they don’t have to be the same distance from line 1…and the line on the left should NOT touch the diagonal lines. As for the line on the right, only allow the bottom of it to touch the lower diagonal line.
From vanishing point 1 draw lines to the top and bottom of line 3. From vanishing point 2 draw a line to the top of line 2, all as shown. Now you should have something like in Fig. 10, and if you see that the left will likely be a window and the right some sort of bay or corridor, then you’ve got it!

From somewhere to the right of line 2 drop a vertical line from the diagonal line to the bottom one as shown. Draw a vertical line somewhere to the left of line 3 so it connects the two diagonal lines leading to line 3 (heck, just check out fig. 11!). Shade in the resulting openings if you like, and you have fig. 11.

By now you may have noticed something, and if you have, then you’re really catching on: in the single vanishing point images, almost any line not radiating out from the vanishing point was either horizontal or vertical, but here, with TWO vanishing points, we simply use vertical lines.
