Description
Here is a better description of a window from the previous page, along with a little extra...Figure 1: Once again, we have the same angled structure. Once again, on both sides, draw an "X"- that is so central to everything here!- and then, for both sides, draw in a vertical line through the center of both "X's."
For the right side, draw a line from Vanishing Point 2 through the two lines of the lower part of the "X," as shown.
For Figure 2, for the left side, draw two lines from the leftmost corners through the line going through the "X." Just be certain that one is above and one is below the center point, and that the lines are long enough to reach the line coming from Vanishing Point 1.
The right side now has two vertical lines coming from where the line from Vanishing Point 2 meets the "X." See where (and how) they meet the lines in the top part of the "X?"
Figure 3: For the left side, from the corners on the right side of that half, draw two lines, making sure that they go right through the vertical dividing line where the first two lines went through it, as shown. make them long enough to reach the line coming from Vanishing Point 1, as before.
What you have is a diamond- a nice, centered diamond! This is good for an unusual window or a decoration.
Over on the right side, we finish simply by drawing a line from Vanishing Point 2 through those two new points over the middle of the "X." You now have a centered window, which is affected by the shape of the wall- a square wall would give a square window, while a rectangular wall would give a rectangular window.
Once again, you might be wondering what to do if you do not want such a window, but still centered- never fear, that's coming up soon!
You also can expand on this. You can, on the same page, do the same things, but with a larger or smaller diamond or window- a shape withing a shape- or again, for three, or more- don't limit yourself to what I've done here; if you have an idea or inspiration, do try it!
You can even try putting a diamond within a window, or a window in a diamond! Try it if you like!
