Simba being a paranoid grump as per usual, but I actually think he has a point. Did you see how Kovu reacted to other lions walking past in his sleep and his own mate waking up? He will have been in the Pride Lands for at least six months at this point, but his survival/killer instincts honed by Zira never died out, they just became dormant. I do picture him being a bit vicious and doing everything he can to bring his prey down.
