Love the field-guide look and the incorporation of the native culture into the animal's description. Excellent creature design. Makes me want to flip the page to see what the next featured animal is. Awesome.
The method of movement through the sand is very interesting. The wind must be very strong to provide enough energy to move that much sand. I can imagine that the Surfslider might be vibrating its body with muscle contractions, perhaps through those antlerlike sructures, to provide greater liquifaction of the sand around it. A very intriguing method of movement.

Thanks very much- you make a very good point about the wind and vibration needing a bit more help to liquify the sand. Maybe if I manage to get my tablet fixed I'll start developing this idea further.
