Description Aaahhh Linast I should just never stop drawing you. I had so much fun with this.

So, here we have my favorite (only) shadow elemental several years after both InfinitOCT and Creepy Academy . (...and basically whatever else I decide to have happen to him while he's stuck as a human. xD) It's around three, four years later for him, probably. So he's past the ten year mark at the least.

He's incorporated a lot of the facial features of his human form, obvious when you compare it to his original design . And the experience of actually having a humanoid body made creating one for himself much easier--meaning that he can focus less on that and more on creating visual details when he wants to.

I'm probably going to edit this description to make this sketch page a full reference/bio for Linast later, but for now I don't want to have that much of a wall of text here. In the mean time, more info on Linast can be found on the list of Abime Spire characters and in the links provided there.

Edit: Oh! I guess there are a few other characters here, too. The blue dragon is Sciathair; she's an ice dragon, and a pretty minor character.

The brown cat-like creature is the leader of the 'kittens', Brownie. They are the first and only children born within the Spire. The kittens have an (un)natural affinity for engineering, particularly in relation to the Spire's defense systems and other mechanical workings. They also age far slower than their parents. (In short, the magic of the place adapted them to serve the Spire, and to do so for as long as needed. ) As far as Brownie's personality goes, just... this song . Full stop.

WOW. It's fantastic how you managed to explain everything without words, just pictures. I love that series of pictures on the top. It's super good at explaining how Linast is immortal. I just love when creators make their creatures immortal and explain how they are immortal. And he's shapeshifter, too? *___*
And he's shadowy and transparent and cool ahh
I love that. So. Much.
*learned that he temporaly was turned into a human* Oof. It could be... a strange expirience for him.
*looks at his original design.* It's good, too!

Cats. C A T S. My. I laughed at it out loud. It so perfect.

pffahahaha this. This. This is just so much fun. You should so draw him more. I really like this one, it shows a lot about his character and his abilities

The comic thing at the bottom was so cute. And nice movement representation for the top one!

I tell myself I shouldn't pick favorites, but. But. Linast is my favorite. <3

I had a lot of fun with this, too; sort of took to mind our discussion about showing characterization rather than telling it and enjoyed myself immensely. Mostly because it's Linast and he's a joy to draw, but still. xD

Ah, thank you! Probably one of the biggest reasons I'm interested in trying out the gimp animation is because I want to portray some of how Linast moves. I'm glad that the top one felt active! (And that the bottom one is cute. Brownie would be pleased. )

For some reason I never saw this comment! It must've been deleted automatically by dA (did you know that happens when you disappear for too long? It gets rid of comments for you.)

Ahh this is so cool, now that I actually know more about Linast. Cos I remember the first time I saw it I didn't completely get what it was going on, but it was cute. XD It's awesome how much you managed to show here!

Ooh you want to do GIMP animation? Have you done any yet? C: OMG I think Linast's transformations and stuff would be totally epic in animation

Huh--I did not know that, no! I guess it might be because even when I simply don't have the energy/motivation to comment or post anything, I'm usually still stopping in randomly to look at things. That and I probably don't have as many comments built up as you. xD

I definitely want to do an animation, yeah. I think Linast would be a lot of fun to animate. The two sequences here would even work as keyframes, so I'd have a head start on one or two! And I have ideas for a few other short sequences, too, with other charactrrs. I have to find gimp or another program and figure out how to install it first though! And then the time to draw.

lol I skip in too, though. I think if you leave too many comments built up they just delete the earlier ones. (So now I'm keeping 'em in folders XD)

Yay, animations
Gimp is pretty easy to install at least, you just search it up and follow the instructions. XD But one tip to making animations is to keep everything constantly moving. Such as panning the 'camera' even if your character is standing still. Otherwise, it looks really stilted if you move one body part, like an arm, and everything else stays still. (But if you move the 'camera' it's not noticeable anymore. XD)
