Meet Piper & Lis! They're romantic partners who live in the Spire with their cat, Tobias.

Lis:

Personality: Equable, principled, tenacious, jumpy, insecure.

They/them pronouns, ~35 feet long (?? idk I'm eyeballing it), 36 years old.

Lis is a naga who runs a daycare of sorts, providing childcare and early education for some of the children in the Spire.

Lis likes naps in the sun (even if it's simulated sunlight), reading, and playing with their cat, Tobias. They can come across as a bit skittish and soft-spoken at times, particularly when outside of work, but this is mostly just due to a strong startle reflex and a laid-back personality. When something is important to them they are perfectly capable of making themself heard.

Their 'eyebrow' markings are just makeup, but they do have enough motion in their forehead to form expressions.

(...they also like stealing Piper's sweaters.)

Personality: Outgoing, nerdy, playful, kind, opinionated.

Avoid pronouns (or ze/hir | ze/zir), 5'9" (175 cm) tall, 32 years old.

Piper is a human horticulturist & the supply manager for the Spire's agricultural hydroponic bays. Piper has an inclination towards teasing people and enjoys sharing popular Earth media with the Spire's other inhabitants, including movies, shows, TTRPGs, board games, and card games. Piper also enjoys cuddling Lis and gardening.

Taking care of others and making other people smile are very satisfying pursuits, and Piper enjoys platonic matchmaking—specifically, finding and introducing people who might get along to one another.

Piper is a genderqueer person who prefers minimal use of pronouns, but is passably comfortable with ze/hir and ze/zir .

...this illustration came at the end of a series of 'doodles' that I started out telling myself I wouldn't shade, then told myself that I wouldn't shade much, and then... well, here's this full-blown painting. xD So that's why it has the pencil-like line style. Though as odd as the combo is, I do kind of like the look!
