"...just glad Asagi-chan is OK. And you know, I heard something like that also happened to a girl from 209 on the same day."

Unbidden, Hiro caught the words, and his focus shifted to the two gossiping girls nearby. There had been rumors floating around in the class about what had kept Asagi from her classes, and his stomach dropped whenever he heard people talking about it, but this was the first he had heard of something else happening. Despite their attempt at being quiet, the voices of the two girls carried to him easily.

"What, you mean an accident?"

"I don't know what happened exactly, but I don't think it was an accident. This girl, she left school that day but never came home. They called the police but there was no sign of her. Not until the next morning. A couple of other girls were out near the sports field when suddenly she came around the corner of the building, wearing a swimsuit. They said she was staggering and when they saw her, she fainted right in front of them."

"What did they do?"

"They got her help, carried her to the Nurse's office. She got pulled from school right after and no one's seen her since."

"That's terrible!"

"What's worse is that one of her friends from the same class got pulled too, because her cell phone got stolen earlier that day. The last message sent, I heard, was sent to that girl after it was stolen and asked her to meet at the storage shed."

"Ehh! That's so scary! Now I wish you hadn't told me! Was she... Was it a-"

"I don't know, but that's why I don't think it was an accident. Both of those girls probably won't come back to this school though, if the parents think there's some pervert prowler on the loose."

"Oh my God. So then what happened to Asagi-chan and Yukari-chan might have also been..."
