"Ahhh! Come in, come in, come in!!" Adie yelled as she opened the door. She had been scurrying around all morning and felt a little exasperated when she had heard the doorbell, but she knew that Lynne wouldn't care that the house wasn't totally prepared for people. After all, Lynne had promised to help her make food for the rest of the party that was coming. "This is a beautiful place Adie!" Lynne remarked, "Much bigger than that dorm we were in!"
Adie and Lynne had been best friends since college, where they shared a dorm room for a few years. They had known each other before then, but it wasn't until they found out they were both going to the same college that they actually started hanging out outside of group settings. But college was a few years ago already, and they hadn't spent any time together in quite a while.
"Excited for the old group to be back together?" Adie asked. "Of course!" Lynne exclaimed, "I really haven't seen most of them since high school. It'll be like a mini reunion!"
"Well, then let's get cooking. The food is going to take longer to prepare than I will, so I'll get changed while we're waiting for something or another to finish up" Adie said. They walked into the kitchen and started pulling out everything they needed. Blissfully unaware of what they were about to get themselves into.
