After a far too brief period, the table was clean. Lynne reclined back again, her stomach spilling onto her lap. Adie had finally reclined as well, but her stomach was almost already touching the chair. Lynne hadn’t quite cleared her share of the meal, but as she had expected: Adie picked up the slack for her. Adie let out a sigh, sticking her tongue out as though to taste the air. “That was great,” she moaned. Lynne replied in a pained voice, “you know, I thought I remembered something about the buffet incident that I didn’t quite enjoy: my stomach’s reaction to this mountain of food inside it.”
"Well that’s unfortunate that your tummy doesn’t like to stretch,” Adie paused for a moment, appearing as though she was in thought. Lynne had a feeling that she knew what Adie was going to say next. “In fact,” Adie continued, “I could probably still go for the extra dessert that I was saving for myself.” Lynne’s stomach gave a pained groan, to which Adie replied, “I’m guessing that means I’ll be on my own in this endeavor?”
Lynne rolled her eyes, that was practically word-for-word what she expected her to say. “Yes, Adie. It’s all yours.”
