so i fixed the phaser plates (dorsal and ventral), toned down the reflection map on the inner saucer section, finished all of the escape pods, and the dorsal saucer badging.next, ventral saucer textures!
[EDIT: looks like my outer rim textures are stretched in the z-axis a bit...darn it!]

Well, you seem to have figured out where to put the decals. I really like your reflective map on the hull plate texture. Are you going to add red warning bars back in around the phasers?

i've actually changed the map to something that is more "aztec-y" since that was the then applied to the refitted Enterprise.
and for the red bars, i made, instead, the rims that surround the individual turrets red. i wonder if that would be sufficient.
