Description
lots of stuff this time 'round.mirrored the nacelle so now both are in their proper positions.
added the windows to the upper part of the saucer section. if you look carefully, you can see the half-finished bridge and the more-or-less completed port-side hallway (with viewing couches, because...why not).
i've also started blocking in the impulse deck.

A nice little ship you have going there. Cannot wait to see the finished product. Will you be offering it for download? Will it be in OBJ format?

thank you for the compliment!
i am afraid i won't be offering for download, though. instead of polygons, i use NURB modelling, which doesn't translate very well into an OBJ export. also, the end files are pretty darn big, and that's not including the hi-resolution textures (hi-resolution as in film-level quality).

Well regardless, I think your model is A1 quality. I'll just have to get over not having it for my own use! Not a problem. I have some skill with modeling also, and you have inspired me to work on a new one of my own. Thanks for that!

I feel your pain, making all those port holes on the U.S.S. Walton almost burned me out too lol
I'm sure the end result is going to be fantastic, keep on trucking

each window individually modelled.

the tip being: don't build big bloody ships that have a god-awful number of windows!

thanks! i'm trying to do a ship that's just pre-TMP era, taking design cues from Star Trek, Phase II .

Very cool. I'm designing a ship from the TNG era that's got a big bridge window like that. I've been kind of ashamed to display it here, though, until I get more progress done on it.

thank you!
the biggest issue i am finding is to make sure that the bridge layout works with the sloped window, and still work, design-wise with the exterior.
and you should, of course, post your ship!!!

I've done an entire interior layout for mine to make sure everything jives. Perhaps I'll put it up later.
