Description
an update: the lower two images are progressions to the larger image. left to be done: rollbar connection with phaser cannons, weapons pod outer surface, bridge, underside of secondary hull, fronts of the nacelles.i am wondering if i should include badging on the port side of the dorsal edge of the rollbar. so far, most images i've found leave it blank, but if you look at the TWOK footage, that part is never really shown but at some angles you CAN see that it has badge lighting.
also did some post-render contrast fixing in Photoshop.
Software(s) used: Autodesk Maya, MentalRay, Adobe Photoshop

When the question of placement comes up in models I've done, I look online to see if there are any model kits with decal sheets and instructions. It's usually a good indicator of what goes where.
For the Miranda-class, I believe there's the ship's name on the port-top side of the roll bar with the ship registry on the starboard side. At least that's what I did with my version of the ship:

very true, but with the Miranda, i've found so many inconsistencies with the decals, models (both practical and CG), that I keep on going back to either studio models (photographs of the models used in the film or in subsequent TNG and DS9 episodes) or TWOK itself.
but it does makes sense to have the name on the port-side.
although you can't see it here:
you CAN see the rim of the badge lighting here:

I can see the projector lights on the cowling over the torp launchers. So I say go for it.
