Description
Here is a refresher on Gerrard and Nell's story so far. at this point in time humanity has taken to sky cities in order to avoid contact with the 'lesser' races of the world. Gerrard was an airship crew member and in a foolish accident fell from his ship. fortunately he did not die (otherwise it would be a very short story) and was found by Nell, who took him in out of kindness and nursed him back to health. Nell became fascinated with Gerrard for although she had heard the stories of humanities perpetuity for hate and genocide she refused to believe it without proof. and so she set about trying to befriend the injued human along with learning more about him, much to Gerrard's initial terror.Here we have Nell sharing one of her favorite puzzle box toys in hopes that they can find something in common
after a very useful critique from i corrected some anatomical points and re-uploaded this.

i would suggest dropping some light on the left of the background, maybe do one of those several layers o f simple woods tricks they use in magic the gatheriing illustrations often.
it would do wonders for making nell pop, this way her light colors are drowned out by the environment, but otherwise great job, i love watching you improve.
btw, ever tried making one of those snakeskin brushes that i use, lemme know if you need some tips

and "wood trick?" i have not heard of that but would be interested in seeing it.
i have saved all your tutorials on the brush making techniques but have not yet had much time to practice them give me a chance to fail a few times at it then i should at least understand some of the basics

I really like the story in this piece, very well done.
I wonder if your Gerrard character is based off of Gerrard from Magic: The Gathering? Because, they both look nearly the same, have the same name and Gerrard in MTG is a skyship captain too.

actually no, Gerrard was going to be Jared but i had a 'brain fart' and typed 'G' instead of a 'J' and speck check gave me Gerrard and the name stuck. and my Gerrard is not a captain just a deck hand.

Really quite a superior work, an excellent 'encounter' subject. But since she's pointing, indicating interest, her tongue should be flickering, indicating interest.

I still want to know why is he sitting on her tail if he is so uncomfortable around her, and what that cube is they are both interested in.

cause most of his bones are broken, and it is a puzzle cube and toy, she loves puzzles and thinking things so she is trying to share that with him in order to try and befriend him

Looks like it was just spinal damage given how little bindings there are. And maybe minor arm damage. Since he has no cast on his arms, at worst they were cracks, not breaks.
Interesting designs on the cube, though.

What did you correct? I think her wings didnt's have that extreme bend before, but I'm not certain. And I don't think she had any eyelids before, but again, I'm not certain. And did you elongate her wings so they pass above her back now? Or am I completely off-track?

"wings"? actually it was all in him i changed the bandages on his right hand so that people would be able to understand where his wrist actually ends and i moved his legs over because they were not lined up with his torso

absolutely fascinating! it somewhat recalls - but in a much shinier way - Bram Stoker's last novel, "The Lair of the White Worm."

Annie: I always liked this pic, I'm not a fan of snakes but I love how she is trying to find someone to love and sometimes the way to do that is by finding common ground, I like how he's slightly scared in this image but he seems to see the purpose of what she is trying to do. Despite her appearence she seems to just want someone to love to see what its like and be with the person too.
Like I sometimes say everyone deserves friends, and everyone has a true love out there somewhere but some of us may seem lost in that concept when not many of our type exist so we try other methods of finding the one we are meant with.
