now that i have a firmer grasp on color (hopefully) i have been wanting to color EVERYTHING. i have been using this site kuler.adobe.com/create/color-w… to choose my color scheme.right now this is a work in progress and as i work more on it i will simply update the image
Edit: first update, well i think my problem is that i believe i have to post like other people do, with having everything finished in one go before i post.... i am not like that with my art. i can focus fine for a time on one piece but then my imagination gets away and a thousand other images come up. i use to update and post stages when i first started and you know what? that work better for me. don't ask me why but it helped me forcus and keep working so i am going to re organize and start that back up again. means a lot more posts and updates per day.

Is that a golden rubics cube of doom?
I like her grey scales, they have a good texture and sheen that gives it that mix of stylization and realism that I like in your work. The shape of the scales themselves are very similar to snakes not just in shape but also the way they're bent. Have you spent alot of times with snakes, it is very accurate.

thank you. actually i have spent no time around snakes of any kind, i just looked at some photos and some other artist that had drawn snake people and went from there

A good alternative as it turns out. I do get a bit sceptical about the idea of drawing these fantastical images with just photo references whenever someone claims they do.

The color in these images is nice but I feel the overall quality isn't as refined. I think alot of your stuff looks better in gray scale than in color. It's why I'm thinking of making my commission non-color.

they are not yet refined even the one where they are glaring at each other the darks need to be darker and lights lighter.

I do hope Gerrard will get over his apprehension and timidity toward Nell, she's quite the beautiful lady.
On a personal note, I like that you gave Nell a full hood, similar to a cobras. My own character, H'hsssmee, I envisioned that way when I dreamed her up about 50 odd years ago.

H'hsssmee wandered the back corridors of my mind for quite some time before I started seriously writing about her. She's involved with a human character of mine in a story I wrote in First Person but plan to turn into Third Person. I can work up a huge amount more detail that way.
