Description
A picture I drew for the group I'm a part of, Ocs and crossovers. The prompt was to draw one of my characters with someone from an established franchise, so I drew my character Gavin with Ryoma from Getter Robo. Honestly I'd been itching to draw Ryoma again for such a long time, and I finally got around to doing it. They both kill dragons, so why not draw them together? I like how it came out. I thought about the rule of thirds and continuity when drawing this, can you tell?Uhh apparently this needs a story too, so let me write one quickly. Gavin was fighting a dragon. Ryoma says, "I bet I can kill more than you!" Gavin replies, "I accept your challenge," and then this picture happens. The end.
I have nothing against dragons btw, I actually like them a lot. The same can't be said for Gavin though. And before you decide to call PETA, they did eat them afterwards. Nothing better tasting than dragon meat.
Something I noticed about my art is that I've started to hate doing clean lineart. It's so time consuming and annoying. Rough lineart suits me better I think, it has a sense of energy that clean lines just don't have. What do you think?

Thanks! I think pushing myself is the best way to improve, so I try to do something new each time I draw something.

I really like the shading and the slobber looks interesting and i am no place to critique people cuz i have lots of mistakes in my drawings buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut i will say that the blood looks kind of "strange" when it's on the on the creature (like the blood coming from the monsters neck and that dudes hand) but since yo u like rough lines that may be what you're going for...either way it looks good.... i'll see myself out now.

Thank you! I'm glad that you like the shading. Don't be afraid to critique me, any little bit helps. What did you mean when you said the blood looks strange, is it not thick enough?

i think it's thick enough (sounds not weird at all) i guess what i meant was that the lines looked "unnatural" like when his hand goes through monster i think the source of the blood could've been "bloodier" and..yeah i guess thicker...i should probably just delete these comments now if i can

No way! The point of critique is to get an honest response to art. So don't worry about saying something that isn't good, that's what it's all about!

Now that would be awesome! A never ending onslaught of dragons? Gavin would definitely be up for the challenge.

Hahaha! But I’m pretty sure Priscilla would tamper the dragon’s DNA to make it more challenging.

Awesome job on this! Lots of action and energy from this one, and very intense poses!
Like I said in your poll, I personally like the look of rough lines better. Clean lines are so time consuming indeed, and definitely don't have the energy rough lines do. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I totally know what you mean, and will forever admire the look of rough lines. So by all means, flourish that part of your style if its what you like best!

Thanks! Haha I'm glad you took the time to read the description, I was worried it was so long that nobody'd look at it. I too am starting to feel the appeal of rough lines, so I'll probably do that more often.
