While I was zoning out at work (as I always do to make time pass really fast) I was suddenly struck with this design of how Joe would look like when he's older. Isn't it really fitting? You may be wondering, "what's with the eastern clothes?" Well by this point Joe has gone on so many adventures that he's encountered a lot of different people, and he accumulated a lot of different clothing styles from all the shops. I think he'd like this type the best, because it's easy to take on and off, plus you can sleep in it. I imagine that at this point he's very done with everything. Haha.

Does he still do detective work and stuff? Yeah, but for small things only. And if you ask him about any of his adventures, he'd just scowl and say, "Why don't you go ask Dan about it?" In actuality Joe never wanted to go on any of them, but they were thrust upon him with lines like "You're the chosen one from the prophecy!" and he had to pay rent so had no other choice.

By this point he also has a wife and a son (who is the protagonist of the third game, if I get that far.) Also, even though I drew him with a pipe here, Joe doesn't actually smoke anymore. He just holds the pipe without lighting it. Why not? Well, having a family makes you more health-conscious. But at the same time, he's done it for so long that it'd feel weird not to have anything there. So there you have it.

Will I draw anyone else older than they are now? Probably not. I just thought this was kewl, so I drew it. I think the "reluctant aged hero that doesn't care anymore" archetype is really awesome.
