Better design?! Are you kidding me?! I'm cool with you calling Zilla Godzilla, since that was what he was SUPPOSED to be, but you went too far when you said that a giant unisex iguana was cooler than the original! Emmerich's terrible mistake of a film pales in comparison to both the Japanese Godzilla designs and Legendary Picture's version, which I consider the first genuine American version of Godzilla. Zilla looks almost nothing like Godzilla, and he doesn't even have atomic breath, Godzilla's signature ability! Zilla is a completely different Kaiju!

At least the American's look like a giant iguana, yah know cause it was. The Japanese Godzilla was suppose to be look like a giant dinosaur but I've never seen one like that before, and it looks like he has a glandular condition on top of that.

As a monster design, this is more appealing than the originals. (The best in my opinion is the 2014 remakes imagining)
The thing that made it Zilla instead of GODzilla is that it ACTED absolutely NOTHING like the "real" Godzilla.
However, in this designs defense, there was an animated series made for it whose Godzilla struck the right balance between an animal and the true force of nature we know of. Look it up, if you have time. It's worth a watch.

sorry, but hated the '98 the movie, it was like a cheap romantic comedy + evil monster vs. patriotic soldiers (liked the creature design, but because i grew up watching the japanese films, it just didn't feel like Godzilla). Didn't liked the cheap shot at the french, either, blaming them like if they were the only ones doing nuclear tests...Β
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it", and the new 2014 design, closer to the original, is a proof that this '98 design wasn't quite succesful within the fanbase.Β

I don't hate all of the others, just some. In terms of design, the best ones are this one, Legendary's, and another which I don't know the name of.
In terms of the movies themselves, this one is pretty good, some of the others are good, a bunch sucked, and I've heard that this new Legendary one is spectacular.

Zilla doesn't count as a Godzilla design. That's why his name was changed. He was a meant to be one, but Emmerich screwed him up like he screws all of his films up (he makes Michael Bay look like James Cameron). Also, I might be able to tell you the name of the third design you mentioned if you can tell me what film it's from.
