I read the pdf.I wonder how u would paint diffuse all over again in PS,can't u export the textures u painted in Zbrush?and u paint diffuse with the map flattened out?In mudbox,u can import ur normal maps and use them as reference for painting diffuse maps on ur 3d model.

haha wow, I must be getting really old when someone hasnt ever seen someone painting on a texture flat !!
Sure you can use whatever method you prefer, there are many options available to you

I tried the flat painting but there are always problems especially how high the eyebrows should be,how small a characters pattern design for a jacket should be.I admit Photoshop is kinda the best for texturing. Are there some tips u could give me or for this to be possible, one needs at least a normal or ao map to know where the details are if painting flat.

you have the model open in your software on one monitor and paint in the other, save the texture and see the update on your model in realtime Other than that its just practice. You shouldnt need a normal map to paint!!

I have only one monitor but i could alternate between PS and Maya windows after saving.Do u still prefer painting flat to painting in 3d?

Thank you! This little tutorial is awesome! I learned so much going through it. Will keep it close so I can refer to it. I have a small question if I may.......when it comes to topology for low poly models, would you say it is something you have to experiment with to really grasp? I know facial topology usually is the same in most models following the flow of muscles, but for the rest of the body it varies right? I'm trying to learn topology right now, but I keep referring to other artists and end up getting confused cuz there are differences in the bodies lol.
ok, maybe that was a big question.

its a tricky one to answer tbh. Your best bet is to search and see how other good artists have done something similar
