I'm new to the whole digital art thing.... but when you do something like this... is there any way to scan a picture or page onto this and work from that? That will be the only way I can do this, because I suck at drawing on the tablet.

In the Manga Studio EX 4 version you can do that
You just need to import the image file, ink it or tone it and export it as jpg or png.

pardon me, but I do have a question. Not about any of this particularly, but something else. How do you get an image to appear over the panel lines? I seem to have the same problem with word bubbles when they peek outside of it's panel every so often.

Well, there's no problem at all~ You just have to draw panels in a different layer, and when you draw something that comes out of the borders, you just have to erase the panel lines that get in the way.

But HOW?T_T I don't believe it, my lineart in MS is so pixelled...
When I set the page the way you say it - 50% view - I at least can view the line more or less, it looks a bit better, but when I export it it still looks very pixelled
Why is it only me who has problems

What are the settings you're exporting it with? You should leave it the same size and resolution, don't change anything.. Also, I exported it as a Photoshop file the way it was, with layers untouched and once I opened it on PS, I changed everything... What MS version are you using? It should also be a Grayscale image, not a bitmap one, that is important too..

I don't know about that, sorry D: maybe it's a problem with your tablet... I haven't had that problem and the version I'm using is the EX 3.. I haven't tried the 4 version yet... I hope you find a solution D:

I had a little problem with the program, I was hoping if you'd know how to fix it :c
You see, when I try to use any tool that's not pencil, it leaves a trace to wherever I move the stylus to, even if I am not "drawing" with it, and just moving it around D: I already changed the settings for my tablet a few times, and still happens :cc what should I do? ;v;

Ahh that's probably a problem related to your computer's RAM D:~ I've had that problem when I have too many active programs.. I think you need to close as many programs as you can when drawing.. and making some space in your hard drive.. The best would be to add more RAM space to your computer ;u;~

Umm, I have this problem with the pencil and/or marker, whenever I press my tablet down, it doesn't even show up...As I press harder though, it shows up a LITTLE.
Can you help? Is it something with my tablet callibration? I mean, it works fine on PS and SAI...

Actually, that happened to me a couple of months ago! I changed the pen nib on my tablet pen and the problem was, for the most part, solved.

I wonder about that.. Just in case I think you need to set the pen pressure to the most sensitive option.. otherwise, perhaps it's a matter of compatibility D:

What format? I type in Photoshop with a font called Rehr.. The file format is .psd~ I export the Manga Studio File to a Photoshop format ^^ Hope it helps~

There are hundreds~ Many of them are repetitive though~ But you can make different combinations and it won't look bad ^^

I have a small question about Manga Studio and I was wondering if you can help. You see every time I use the pen tool (or any brush tool for that matter) everything comes out more pixelated and less smooth. Can you tell me your brush settings to help my problem?

Hello, that happens to me whenever I zoom it, it only looks smooth when the zoom is at 25%, 50% or 100%, but I think that's normal.. Other than that, I have my settings at: size 0.3mm, Maru-style, In 2.0mm, Out 0.0mm and Correction 4mm.. I don't think any of these last options matter that much, but those are what I use mostly.

cause i did a4 once. and it was still in chibi mode. your pages where/ is two sizes huger then mine's.

It's because I set the resolution to 600dpi~ but they're all template pages.. I just chose from the 600dpi ones..
