hello there! I am rather new at this program. I was wondering how you can load files. it wont let me load files that were not created by this file.
I think like photoshop... like u load a sketch to draw over with layers and layers...
or am i just allowed to free draw without loading sketches?
Any input would be great!!!

you just need to go to file > import > image file.. you can import jpg, psd and other files to ink or tone them over

not sure if someone has already asked this, but is it possible to save the page as a picture on its own?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Heldrad In reply to Xevadia [2010-12-26 08:45:53 +0000 UTC]
It is possible in the EX version, however, instead of clicking on "Save As" you click on "Export" then you choose the type of file

SOS!
I'm trying to make lineart with manga studio but I've got no idea how to make straight, smooth lines, any tips, like is it me/my tablet or is there a tool for like, curved lines?

Heldrad In reply to Batmanlove [2010-11-11 20:00:41 +0000 UTC]
manga studio looks better when you zoom out the page to 50% or 25%~ Once you export it as image file it should look alright. Also, the best pens are the maru and kabura ones, and make sure to use the "stroke-in", "stroke-out" and "correction" options and play with them until you're satisfied with the results. If it doesn't make any difference then you may have a problem of incompatibility with your tablet.

Batmanlove In reply to Heldrad [2010-11-12 23:43:05 +0000 UTC]
where do I find the "stroke-in,stroke-out, and correction" options?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Heldrad In reply to Batmanlove [2010-11-15 04:52:07 +0000 UTC]
When you click on the pen tool, there should appear a window on the right side with these options, as well as the types of pens to choose from. If it doesn't appear, enable all the palettes from the Window menu.

Fantastic tut! This helped me a little with one of my toning worries So here's a question: have you tried printing the pages out to see if the tone moire appears? D:

Heldrad In reply to JadineR [2010-09-08 07:44:03 +0000 UTC]
yeah, I've tried printing them! I've noticed some tones look weird, but most of them look decent enough ~ It's just a matter of printing them out to see if they work fine~

Thank you for the tutorial.
And sadly enough i do have a question about MS... I'm guessing that you're a tablet user as well, so have you ever had it where MS refuses to acknowledge that you're drawing on the tablet? I have Debut as well and i'm wondering if its an issue with my tablet not being compatible with MS or if MS does this to most people...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Heldrad In reply to OneWingedAngel19 [2010-07-28 18:35:26 +0000 UTC]
I haven't had that problem.. maybe it's a compatibility issue.. what tablet are you using? Also, I have a friend with that problem, but it's because the computer she's using has a bad contact in the usb input~

It is very useful but i have one problem
Where is that wrap text tool you talk about on the end? I'm using Manga Studio 4 and I can't find it
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Heldrad In reply to Firen-the-hedgehog [2010-07-15 18:22:28 +0000 UTC]
That is in Photoshop xD I use Photoshop to type in the text precisely because MS doesn't have those options. To do so, read step 6

I don't know xD i've always avoided using it because it won't let you make it look dynamic~

Heldrad In reply to produmanga [2010-07-11 03:49:43 +0000 UTC]
Hi there, I've been trying to set it up again on my pages but looks like I forgot how I did it :'D hahah~ I really can't show them anymore... I'm sorry about that! It isn't that important, anyway~ I was just experimenting and managed to get it that way, but it really doesn't affect your pages at all ~
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
produmanga In reply to Heldrad [2010-07-18 18:40:54 +0000 UTC]
i found on a page how to do it! you switch the page rulers on, then you create a new guide layer and on this layer, you click on the ruler to create a new guide line. thats all ^^
