"Are you happy, Pandia?" Muse asked, approaching the dark mare.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... after all that's happened in the last year. Everything changed so quickly, but it doesn't seem to bother you. How did you move on?" The younger mare continued, averting her gaze from her. She heard her friend sigh.

"I miss them, if that's what you're asking. How could I not? They were my family just as much as they were yours, Muse. Slate and Adonis... they did the best that they could for us," She said softly. Muse jumped in surprise as she felt the gentle touch of her muzzle upon her neck.

"But things changed. Things beyond our control. Life goes on and we have two options: learn to live with it, or stay trapped in the past," Muse glanced up at the mare, but her gaze was now on her two fillies that played in the field ahead of them. "For their sake, I need to move on. I need to be there for them. I can't afford to be unsatisfied with things that I can't change."

"Oh.." Muse mumbled, lowering her head. She felt her throat go tight and her eyes burn. When Pandia put it like that, she felt foolish-

"Grieving, and learning to live with the pain, is a process. It's different for everyone. Don't be ashamed or try to force yourself to move past it. There is no wrong way to feel," The older mare was looked at her earnestly, and Muse smiled weakly. She was thankful that there was someone from her past that was still here with her. A distant rumble of thunder caught the mares' attention.

"Persephone! Lillith! Come here please," Pandia called before glancing at her. "We should go, it'll only be a matter of time before the storm is upon us."
