I thought I would take a little break from working on the first of my projects for WereDragon Magazine,and while on said break, I thought I would submit a few things before going back work. And I see that there is now an 'Original Characters' catagory on DA. It's about damned time!
I wanted play around with more a monochromatic colour scheme as well as draw Akumu's 'nommy hands' (as *screamin-jazzy calls them) in full detail. I also wanted to do a slightly dreamy/ghostly piece. So, using a picture of musician Tony Kakko (of Sonata Arctica and Northern Kings) as a pose reference, I played around with those ideas and this is what came of it, and I really love how it came out.
I swear, Akumu's facial structure is starting to resemble mine (albeit with a smaller forehead and poutier lips as opposed to my large forehead and thin lips). That's...just a little bit disturbing I have to admit. Oh well. That just makes him creepier, amiright?

Creepy indeed, I kinda wanna poke a stick or something into that mouth.. I wonder how strong the bite is, I mean.. save for the ripping and tearing it could do with those teeth! -shudders-

Thank you so much. When I made this piece, I wanted to so something monochromatic, but with a single colour in there that contrasted with the rest of the piece. Akumu was the perfect subject to accomplish this. I'm glad you like it.

Actually, I got the idea for giving him mouths on his hands from Emplate, who was a villain in the Generation X comics. Akumu also has mouths on both hands.
