Β Isn't the woman's skin livid a bit? Is she dead?Β Maybe more sorrow than erotism...
Β This Roberto Ferri is really a good Caravaggio's pupil... His ( digital? classic?) technique is perfect

...yes...all true...RF's work is very pleasingly realistic though the way he handles skin & muscles with light...as admirable or more than carravagio...effectively-emulatedΒ by this artist...

This looks absolutely awesome!
The only thing that looks a bit odd (to me) is her left leg. It feels like you should have shown a little bit of her knee just to prove its there because at it is, it looks like she's missing a leg.

I love Roberto Ferri too, what an artist!!! Your work it's pretty amazing. The hand holding the girl's thigh makes me think in Bernini's sculpture "The Rape of Proserpina". Congrats!!

after laying in the initial colors, use a soft brush with a very low opacity and very careful, deliberate strokes to blend. Β Either that, or use a smudge tool.Β

The man's hand is very similar to Benini's Rape of Proserpina. Great work!

thanks! Major respect for Ferri though, he works all in oil. I'm not that good with oil yet.

I love oils! Once you get the hang of them it's really hard going back because even if you go wrong, you can paint and repaint until you get it right! And they smell so good!
I hadn't realised these were digital until now! even more wow! You see, i find digital painting much harder

HoustonSharp In reply to LittleTallThing [2013-01-17 04:27:29 +0000 UTC]
digital painting itself is actually much easier because it is so forgiving and predictable. It's just challenging because of the program and figuring out how to treat it like an art medium. Once you get the hang of it though, you'll find oils MUCH harder.

haha! But then again you can day the same about oils.
I don't know, maybe the program I use is not as good as yours....and my pen tablet is pretty old...

Yes! Roberto Ferri is so inspiring, and such an amazing artist.
And you are too! I love this.
I especially love the lighting and how it really looks like the man is gripping beautiful rippling flesh.
So amazing! AH!
