Description
A bitbeast, designed for Ozune Kamibara (one of GinGin-Schrei 's awesome Bakuten Shoot: Beyblade OCs); it's based on a fusion/corruption of two fox legends - that of the Japanese Kitsune, and that of the Korean Gumiho. It also has elements of Kabuki costume incorporated in the design, as Ozune is a travelling Kabuki performer herself.Bitbeast: Myobu
Beyblader: Ozune KamibaraΒ gingin-schrei.deviantart.com/aβ¦
Type: Nature
Technique: Hyaku Ochiba (Trans: One hundred fallen leaves)
Technique Description: Vivid red, gold and orange sparkles are released from the beyblade, drifting upward and expanding into the shapes of various types of leaves. The light dims to reveal razor-edged autumn leaves, which form a violent twirling storm, as if caught in a twister; this can either be sent at the opponent's beyblade, used to trap the opponents beyblade, or used to encase it's own beyblade as a counter-attack, or barrier.

Seriously cool design, the bells are a nice touch, and I like the leanness of the fox, plus how it's standing up on its hind legs makes it look very fierce and powerful!!

^^ Thanks.
The idea for it standing on it's hind legs came from the concept of a werefox - a sort of fusion of the werewolf and kyuubi-no-kitsune myths, thus keeping the traditional theme, but adding a more original edge.
Bells are nice; and the idea of all those jingling bells on those tails was something I couldn't resist.

I'm glad you likes it! Trying to get the paws right was a pain, and I had too look at different refs. The tails weren't easy, either, and they may be overlapping in the wrong places - some don't look entirely natural. It's good you like the attack, but it's not very inventive, so maybe I will try to come up with some for the other series. I'll see what I can think up.
I'm working on the Beyblade design right now; I have a few ideas in mind. I want to use some kabuki make-up themes as stickers, and maybe some Bushido clan symbols, if I can find anything appropriate.

Uwah
I can't wait to see the Beyblade design
It looks really good, and I like her paws and claws!
And, despite you not being happy, I think the tails look awesome too!

Teehee; I deliberately gave her red claws, to look like the kabuki nail/claw pieces worn by demon/oni characters; I also put a special emphasis on the black gums, because foxes have them anyway, and it was kind of a Kabuki makeup reference.
Well, if you're happy with it, I guess I can't complain.

I am, and I appreciate all the Kabuki references!
It works well with her being a performer.
And Myobu is cute

Yays!
If you're looking for Beyblade-ish Drama, you could always think of typical anime drama backstories (like a parent left because it would be more dramatic if they grew up with one parent, and it would cut down adult cast ).
Or think about places she could cross paths with somebody else, or like a distorted reflection of another backstory, because those can be cool and dramatic
Or something based off of somebody that you really know, but twisted to be more dramatic; because that can be unique, and serious as well as dramatic - and you can understate it if you like, or ham it up beyblade style!
Those are all the suggestions I can think of, right now...

Teehee, thanks for all the inspiration!
I gave her a bit of a Tyson-like backstory...
Her mum left to pursue her own career and left her with grandmother.
Its not overly dramatic, but at the same time, still has dramatic elements.
I'm trying to be unique, and not touch on too much territory already covered by my other OCs.
So, she's a performer, but I'm looking to give her something more!
But thanks for the ideas, you're a star!
"Wish on me, my love; I'm a star!"

I'm glad I was useful
Her Tyson-like story gives her the chance to say that either she's going to follow in her mother's footsteps, and chase that performance dream, or that she's not going to be like her, and that she's going to return home after her travels, to take on her responsibilities, and take care of her grandma.
She could develop in either direction, depending on whether or not she's compelled to find her mother (which may also be dependent on if her mother occasionally writes home, even if she doesn't stay in proper contact, or if she just ran off and left Ozune), or make her mother proud, or if she's really just trying to take care of dear granny and follow the family traditions.
Or if it's her own aspiration that she's following, because she wants to carve out her own future, like her mother - not to be like her, but because she feels it's important, in order to know who she really is... or something like that.
It's always good to consider aspirations, when making an OC. I personally try to give each character 2 aspiration/motivations, 4 good traits, 4 bad traits, 3-6 likes, 3-6 dislikes, and 3+ talents and weaknesses - because it gives me a basic personality to build from, and it becomes easier to know what is the most natural response for the character...
I'm rambling, now. I'll stop; just hope what I said is useful.
