Description OpenToonz is an open source animation program released by Dwango together with Studio Ghibli and the released version is a modification of the version that they have used in a number of their films. OpenToonz is so far one of the most versatile 2D animation programs that I've used so far, Flash, ToonBoom, TVPaint among them. OpenToonz might seem a bit daunting at first but that is where my tutorials come in. They are a beginner-friendly way to dive straight into learning how to use OpenToonz no matter what the animator's skill-level.

The third video in a series OpenToonz tutorials. This time we go over Styles, utilising the Fill Tool in using them, adding colours into the Level Palette, and editing them with the Style Editor. We also meet my character Pebbles.

ooh! I haven't heard of anyone getting viruses before. I think as long as you download it from the official site, you should be fine :>

Ok, thank you. Could you give me the link please?

Here's the official one: opentoonz.github.io/e/download…

I can't guarantee that that version is the most up to date one but you can find version 3 here under the nightly build: github.com/opentoonz/opentoonz… ;

It should be safe as well but I recommend installing the official version first since it might be version 3 as well despite it saying 1

Those tutorials are great, simple and helpful. I tried using opentoonz and even if I like that software a lot, I've a problem which don't allow me to use it.

I'd like to know if you've the same: each time I try to render a project longer than 258 frames in .avi it always fails, the final preview after rendering is simply black, and trying to play the project in VLC fails, saying there's an issue with the index

Sorry for being horribly late with this! If you haven't been able to fix the issue I would recommend trying to save it as a mov instead. A lot of people seem to be having that trouble with avi :0

It's fine and yes using mov did helped on this (only thing is then to find a way to convert from mov to mp4 but anyway thanks )
