We were three.

Following Magneto's crazy "Ultimatum", Susie, Johnny, and I had no idea where we were going, or what we were supposed to do. With the death of Dr. Franklin Richards, the Fantastic Four didn't feel so Fantastic anymore. So, we all went our seperate ways.

Then, things got...complicated. First, I got these fancy new powers, allowing me to look alot less like a thing and a lot more like...well...myself. Then Johnny got all roped up with the X-Men. And Reed...Reed went nuts. Lost his mind. Became a whole new person...a whole new villain. But, we stopped him, and proved that we still have a whole lot more fight in us.

Then...things got even worse...

Seems that after we stopped his Looney Tunes Children of Tomorrow, Reed escaped and made himself at home in Latveria, Victor Von Damme's old place. There, he became the new Doom, and with his new army, he aimed directly for our heads.

Susie and Johnny reunited with me, and we decided it was time to get smart about these attacks, and stop letting the other super people of the world fight our battles for us. But we needed alittle something else. We needed a fourth.

A few years back, Peter Parker (Spider-Man) had himself a little clone situation. 5 copies were made using his DNA. Three died, one serves as a member of the Ultimates (and she's quite a cutie too...as terrifying as that thought is), and the last one, dubbed "Scorpion" has been in our care ever since. It was Johnny who thought that he could be the fourth member of our time. Granted, the clones all had the original Peter Parker's memories, so I figured...what the hell.

Luckily, Johnny made the right choice.

Pete has been like a brother to us, still trying to adjust to his new life, but has been a friend and teammate through it all. Now, whenever Reed...er...Doctor Doom tries to knock us down, he has Wonder Man, Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and Scorpion to knock him back.

Before, we were Fantastic.

Now, we are Ultimate.
