I feel a deep swell of pity for anybody so foolish as to disarm themselves before their enemies...and reality check, people! YOU ALWAYS HAVE ENEMIES!! Even if you don't know them yet. Such is the nature of the world we live in. There will always be those who seek to do you harm for whatever reasons they may have, and it is your responsibility and your responsibility alone to defend you and yours. Do not make the foolish error in judgement of thinking that someone else will defend you; for it is a very stupid person who blindly puts their safety in the hands of others; especially those who are pawns of a flawed and corrupt system such as what exists in this thing we call government.The police are not your first line of defense. The military is not your first line of defense. YOU are your first line of defense. YOU are responsible for you, and the sooner all you weak-minded, weak-spirited spineless worms wake up and realize this the better off we'll all be...namely 'cause the rest of us will no longer have to endure your childish whining.
To be prepared for war is the most effective way to maintain peace. Gun Control DOES NOT keep law-abiding citizens safe. It DOES NOT keep guns out of the hands of criminals. It just makes gullible suckers more easy targets for those who don't give a damn about the laws, and the corrupt swine who abuse the laws for their own selfish ends. Keep your guns! Because nothing wards off criminals and tyrants like a bullet to the head.
And if you are one of those brainless sheeple too feeble-minded understand the importance of this infallible truth, then you had best prepare yourself to succumb to the effects of Darwinism.Β

I would say your very own gun ins more the last line of defense before some others, they possibly may fail or turn against you in the worst case.
It's a fact that i can say that i belive in a disarmed society, as for me living in a place this is a bit less science fiction as it is in the US. A gun in your hand is a threat to yourself, your children and your neighbors within shooting range. It is a fact, and everyone have at last one stupid neighbor in range of a gun and will one day find a missguidet bullet in you dog, house or child. So far the scenery or a trained, moralic person with absolutley no enemys or greedys around.
But all this comes from a perspective of a broken society, where indeet the cops are beaten from the poor for being 'responsible' for ther problems, as well as abused from the mighty as some kind of private mob breaker squad. These are no cops anymore, they are another threat to the society. Soldiers are castet from criminals and people the job market didn't want them, to comit warcrimes in the name of politicans and weird fascist ideas. So they are a threat too.
Civilians who arm themself play this game along. Escalations in an armed state will be answeared with force. If i would life in America ... i guess i would move to Canada to buy some more years of relative peace. But here patriotism and not a single cent to operate are a common problem. The very most people you not really would like in your country are absolutly unwilling to move or change.
Societys rules are fictional, and just as long as we belive in this fiction - at last the most of us - we have a chance to be this mankind we want to see in the mirror, but aren't.
If my neighbor had a gun, i would be forced to use mine, for the fact, he is an idiot and is a threat to me, if he allready know this or not. But this is anarchy. If you don't have options, you can and must live your life with someone watching your sleep. With your weapon loadet and ready to kill all day long. It is a bit like SUV's. They are not saver as normal cars, if you're not afraid of other drivers. On a street with a SUV, the SUV driver threaten all others with ther higher chassie and will hit the normal car above ther structure. The SUV is made to derive danger to the others, as well as a gun does - and both reduce the safety of a socitey, till all are driving SUVs. Fat, clumsy and overwhight vehicles with a massive cost of fuel. No use but an enhanced possibility to kill peole you don't even know. And this not even inclued the psychological part of escalation in the hand of others.
Getting armed is a valid way to stay part of the problem and not get killed by it(... more or less, some day you WILL die, if you wear a gun - through the gun, the one way or the other). IN a corrupted state it may be valid to give a fk for the safety of others or deescalation, but such a state don't have to be supportet. It don't earn citizens.
Belive me, we Germans tried to solve our problems with arms ... unfortunatly learning just happens by getting beaten - someone who think he's always right, just for the fact he is a honorless, manipulative and imperialistic regime with excangable representatives that can't be hurt with the tools of democracy nor with a gun in the hand of a citizen - this is a wreck of culture and had to left behind.

Having guns everywhere will just cause more problems then it will solve. Sure, granny joe joe might save herself three out of five times with a gun but if everyone has more guns then her house will be more likely broken in to putting granny joe joe in more danger.
