These are the Star Seeker and Hidden Dragon keyblades from Kingdom Hearts II. They, as well as the Valor Form Sora costume that I made to accompany it, took 10 months to create and are a source of personal pride for me.Related content

months later after seeing these, I come back to them and still can see how amazing they are.

Hi Kira! I made these out of wood and used assorted woodworking tools to cut and carve them. It was topped off with a little bit of clay and a lot of paint. From there, it was just a matter of spending a lot of time, effort and love on them.

yeah, i found already. i bet you probably cut yourself while you were carving the wood up, right? cause, i know it happens often, unless you wear gloves to be safe.

I didn't get cut at all. I didn't wear gloves, (I wear wrist braces now though and would recommend wearing a good pair of work gloves) but I always wore my safety goggles. One of the keychain pieces flew off and bounced right off of the goggles while I was sanding it at one point. It was a scary moment, so if you use any power tools, be careful and wear goggles!

Wow now there is something you don't see every day! I also plan to use the star seeker. I don't know why, but it is my favorite keyblade in the game. I plan on making one myself. I have been on cosplay.com and gotten advice on making it myself. She told me to use paper clay for the star and moon. How did you do it? I know your base is wood, but what else is there to this? Did you use a dowel for the handle? Also, what kind of paint did you use to paint them? She gave me some great ideas, I just want to see how you did it. Thanks a bunch!!!

That's great! These two are some of my favorite keyblades; I love the colors in them. The star and moon were both carved from wood; most of it is one solid piece, carved with wood tools.

I was actually looking through her stuff and it is amazing! I was really impressed with all the work that went into them. If my budget was bigger, I would probably buy one from her, but it isn't at the moment. Thanks again for your help!

Absolutely beautiful - the carving, the painting. Everything's perfect.
Now for some technical questions XD What thickness of pine did you use, and how heavy are these? I'm going to be using wood for the first time to make the Circle of Life, and I'm very concerned about the weight because I'm a puny little girl X3

Thank you! I used either 3/4" or 1" (I don't remember which. XD) Both of them weigh about a pound. As long as you make your keyblade out of lightweight wood and carve it well, it shouldn't be a problem for you.

Thanks! I love the Hidden Dragon - many people asked me why I made those two keyblades instead of the standard Oathkeeper and Oblivion, but I always replied with the same answer: because they're very colorful and overall my favorite designs.

Cool!! I think those two are among the best in the game. My favourite is the one from halloween town. I think I will make the kingdom key first as practice but then maybe I'll give the NBC one a go. Once again great work and keep it up.

I made these keyblades for fun and for a costume that I made. I normally make props for the same reason, but I also do commissions now to help pay for college.
