Description "It was my thirtieth year to heaven
Woke to my hearing from harbour and neighbour wood
And the mussel pooled and the heron
Priested shore
The morning beckon
With water praying and call of seagull and rook
And the knock of sailing boats on the net webbed wall
Myself to set foot
That second
In the still sleeping town and set forth."

- from 'oem in October' by Dylan Thomas

A 'stained glass' fractal stretched over with netting and tortured into a singularity with a super_shape FX.

Edit: damn that capital pee, turning into an emote

Thanks for the update! I may even change one of my entries now. I feel there may be a larger dA contingent this year

Your use of the phrase 'eye-catcher' made me check out the thumbnail, and I can see it immediately: it has the right balance of detail and colour to stand out. A lesson for us all: make sure it looks good on the thumbnail view! Thanks for the comment and insight

A Great fractal ! I like the textured chaos here, and the colors do very well. Instant

"Textured chaos" - an excellent description I think the netting effect somehow softened the colours to give this kind of sunset glow to it

Yes this is a very good way to increase the color range, and a very interesting effect when mixing colors and looking closer. I like to search for ways to transform my flames to add texture without breaking the original shapes, and here it works very well !

Yes, texture really adds depth: rectangles works well when the grid is kept as fine as discernible - it can provide a kind of 'crinkled paper' look.

I love the texture on this, it looks like a traditional painting

Thank you! Definitely agree with that - I'd like to think that it might hint at Pollock's inspired chaos, though overlaid on the angularity of vorticism. Wishful thinking...

I adore this image! I love the rich colors. I love the 'netting'. I love the light and the composition. I love the darker blues cutting through the middle section and giving my eyes a place to stop before exploring more of the image. I love the writing, too, btw. Nice selection.

Instant and heartfelt

Thank you indeed! I believe it's the best I've done for some time. The first test render surprised me with the netting effect (not visible on preview) and the title was born - I'm very familiar with a small selection of Thomas' poems, and the fragment jumped straight to mind

Well, the thumb thing doesn't work in messages but it didn't take long to locate And I definitely agree - I love how the light has given each leaf a kind of border...
