Thanks. I didn't like it much, either, so I changed it a few years ago...you can see the update symbol on this Pikipek (ilkcmp.deviantart.com/art/Neo-… ).

Awesome designs! My favourites are Poison, Ghost, and Bug.
I have to say, I like how the TCG conveniently recognizes at least 9 types given that there are 18 types right now in the games (so exactly half of the types the games have).
The balance will probably be ruined though as soon as a new type is introduced in the games! xD

Ah if only there were exactly half the types. Unfortunately, the TCG recognizes 11 types -- not quite the poetic symmetry!

Damn, my counting skills are failing! x3
That's what I get commenting on stuff too late in the evening.
Although the TCG DID have about half the game's types prior to the introduction of Dragon and Fairy to the TCG.

Is there any chance you have the logos in a large format and if I could use them as part of my projects, I'll give full credit to you if you do

Bug, Normal/Colorless, Dark, Dragon, Electric
Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Grass
[???], Ice, Metal (Steel), Poison, Psychic
Ground, Water
I think that's right?

What you listed as [???] was in fact the old symbol I used for Ground (a stylized earth), and what you listed as Ground is the symbol for Rock (used in-show as the Rock-type symbol). I believe everything is listed alphabetically by type, too (I used the Colorless name instead of Normal, Metal instead of Steel...but strangely, I kept Electric rather than use Lightning).
This is outdated; a more up-to-date piece can be found here: ilkcmp.deviantart.com/art/Poke…
In fact, I meant to delete this a while ago!

Excellent done on all the icons. ^^ Im not sure if you have redone a new list though, as there is this new Fairy type that came with XY now..

Yeah, this one could probably do with an update! In addition to needing to add Fairy, I've also since updated the Ground symbol.

You forgot to include Fairy when you updated the Dragon symbol.

ILKCMP In reply to NeweRegion [2014-02-12 04:47:07 +0000 UTC]
Actually, last time this was updated was before Fairy-type was confirmed. In fact, I think the last update was before X and Y were even announced. Fairy needs to be added and the Ground-type symbol needs to be updated as well!
I'll add this on my to-do list. Thanks for noticing!

Oh, I didn't know they made Dragon energy before Fairy.
In fact, i didn't even know the Fairy Energy existed until today; and I didn't know Dragon existed until last week.
I just assumed they came out at the same time. I haven't bought Pokemon cards in a long time.
Also, what about Ground Type?

ILKCMP In reply to NeweRegion [2014-02-12 14:15:08 +0000 UTC]
Yep, Dragon has been out for a few years now!
That's the original Ground-type symbol (before I changed it to a drill).

Thanks!
Well they're all Pokémon types...it's just that some don't actually exist in symbol form. Only 10 TCG types exist compared to the 18 in the VG.

Y'know
These symbols are very cool/good, but I think you need a different one for ground-type :0
Off: What about you make two-typed symbols? Like as in Dark Pokémon (I'd give you a link but it won't appear right)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ILKCMP In reply to juanito316ss [2012-03-31 01:29:05 +0000 UTC]
I agree...I was actually messing around with potential Ground symbols, but haven't found anything I've liked. Any ideas?
By two-typed symbols, do you mean like the dual-type symbols that were used in the TCG?

Maybe a rocky/sandy ground?
Yeah
Like in Dark Pokémon

I believe the ground symbol could change into a drill or something. I made this as an example [link]
Also I was thinking that the flying symbol would be better as the Jet Badge like this [link] or this [link]

It is not much different from the feather that ILKCMP has and I thought that like the fog badge is used for the ghost symbol the jet badge would be a better choice since it is also used in the anime.

you might get mad for the many comments but I also think that the ice symbol should change too. I like it like that but for a pokemon symbol I think it should be something more simple like the Glacier badge. [link]

tsikuso In reply to tsikuso [2012-04-30 11:04:39 +0000 UTC]
On second though I guess your ice symbol is better. so just ignore the previous comment.

I was looking at the rock symbol and I think that it is not so easily recognized. The first thing I thought when I looked at it was a mountain. Wouldn't it be better if it was something like in this card [link] ? I think it is more obvious and more simple than this one.

ILKCMP In reply to tsikuso [2012-01-17 17:47:41 +0000 UTC]
The Rock symbol was something actually used on the show. So no, I don't think I'll be changing it.

Also I saw some problem in deciding the poison symbol in some discussion. If you are not sure for the poison symbol you have here then you should be. This is better than the other options you made. Or you can make something like this [link] or this [link] .

ILKCMP In reply to tsikuso [2012-01-17 17:54:08 +0000 UTC]
Also, as I mentioned the Rock symbol was used in-show, the Poison symbol is also something that has been used officially -- it's the symbol found on Koffing. Part of why I wanted to change the Poison symbol was because it was too "skull-like."
If any symbol is going to be changed, it would be Ground, and possibly Flying (Flying to its Battrio representation). However, as I'm so far along in the project, I doubt I would change any more symbols.

I never noticed that the poison symbol was the same as on Koffing. You are right. And it is on Weezing as well (naturally, since it is the evolution of Koffing). The Ghost symbol was also used officially?

ILKCMP In reply to tsikuso [2012-01-19 03:57:26 +0000 UTC]
Yep -- the Ghost symbol is actually the Fog Badge.

Thanks. They are cool. Are you gonna do the rest of them as well? Are the ice, ghost and ground symbols the official ones? By the way, you are doing an awesome work here.

ILKCMP In reply to tsikuso [2012-01-15 20:22:50 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
But yeah, I plan on finishing them all -- in time. I'm trying to focus on the actual Pokémon for now.
There are actually no "official" symbols for Ice, Ghost, and Ground in the sense that TPC hasn't yet incorporated those types into anything truly official with a symbol. Save for Battrio, I suppose, but the symbols for those differ from the TCG symbols anyway.
