Description *please allow time to load*

@_@ Uh oh, tut time. Well people have been asking me how I do get smooth outlines and how I shade and while I feel that I am actually only an amateur myself (Coming up to a year now ^_^) if people feel I can help then I will certainly try my best too

This part is the lineart, coming up is the gradient shading tut so expect that as soon as I get it uploaded, sorry for the typos I really suck and even though I checked over it I know I missed a few.

This is full size, if you want it any bigger just complain and I will be forced to put a bigger one up

Would people like the outline to practice with?

Hooray! My fear of lineart has been overcome by this extraordinarily helpful tutorial! I love the way that I can make my lineart look so great after only my first attempt. No practice neccessary

Oh this is awesome! I had such a hard time finding a really good pen tool tutorial (I have shaky hands, too), but yours fits perfectly! The pen tool makes so much more sense now.

Haha, I hate having shakey hands, it makes everything that bit more difficult I am glad you like it, I just remember when I was trying to learn how to use the pen tool how difficult it was, so I am glad you like it

hey i have a question, when you are on the brush tool, selecting the size you want, how do you get the hardness to show?? Like, all it shows is the brush diameter, not the hardness. I use photoshop 7, so maybe its because we use 2 dif. versions of photoshop. if you could help me that would be great, because i really want to try this tutorial out!

I can only think that its because you use an older version of photoshop. But to be honest as long as all your other values are correct then it should not affect your results. I never change the hardness on my photoshop, so its not that important really. Good luck, I hope that helps ^_^

I am not sure, I only had elements 2.0 which did not have the pen tool, I know CS does but anything lower than that I am not sure has it.

I don't have Elements 5.0 but I had 2.0 which didn't have the pen tool function. So maybe its only a feature of CS? >_< Which would suck...

I know, CS is such a rip. If you have good internet access I know Oekaki (or however it is spelt) has boards with a good pen tool. Although I have only tried it once and I find it all awefully confusing.

I just traced over my image.... and/or inked it on paper, then colored it here. thi is fantastic. Thanks for explaining this. LOL Thouh when i use it, it says "No pixels wer selected" or something....

Ooohhh yeah, I always do things the complicated way! Haha its not a problem.

Oh, when that happens it usually means you are working outside a selected area and the pen tool won't work then.

Oh my gosh! Ive just started a lineart, (which i am TERRIBLE at) and it looks amazing, thanks to this tutorial! I have really shaky hands, even with my tablet, so this really helps! Im still not at your level of artistic talent, but Thansk to it looks so much better! Im glad I found you work!

Haha I know, I remember before I learnt how to use the pen tool it was just this big scary thing that made crazy movements on photoshop. Its ace to use once you get the hang of it, especially if you have shakey hands like me
