This is one of the best tutorials about digital painting I've seen so far, thanks a lot! I especially had a hard time finding a good brush setting. I don't know if it will work for me, but I'll try yours, thanks for sharing!

This is great but I'm kinda needing some help... I've finished the base colours but I'm scared of doing anything more because I've never done it in the style of painting before let alone lineless... It's a horse, well mine and my mums horse. It's a gift for my mum's birthday and really don't want to get it wrong... ;~;

I love your art work and I just don't want to mess up >w<

Aaah thank you! I always get scared of stuffing up especially with an idea I've become attached to. Maybe you could save an extra backup copy of the file at its current stage so if this method doesn't work out you can use your regular method from what you have right now? Or if you don't think you'd have time for it, you can just try this method a different time, you don't have to push yourself. Besides I think it's very sweet of you to paint your mum such a picture for her birthday, I'm certain that she'll already be really happy at the effort you out in good luck!

Oh my god your so sweet~!! ^///^

Thankyewww and I'm practicing it now and tomorrow, if I feel it's good enough to try on the horse I shall! ^3^

This is going to sound pathetic but I had a panic attack earlier and crying over it... Feel stupid now but it's what I'm like also I'm a bit of a perfectionist which can be very annoying >w<

Again Thank You! SO MUCH! o3o

Hehe no problem! And don't worry, we all have panic moments like that (I have so many breakdowns before exams lol), hopefully you're feeling better now though ^^ good luck with the painting

This is what it looks like just with the base colours but I'm scared I'm going to ruin it with it being my first try >w<

Saved in my files ! Thank you for this tutorial, it's pretty complete. I'm not sure what you mean by H and S, though, hue and saturation but what to them ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

im-promptu In reply to petiteUlis [2013-07-28 17:27:40 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad it helped and by H and S I meant hard and soft shadows, sorry it should've been clearer >< thanks for pointing it out to me, I'll be sure to fix it later

petiteUlis In reply to im-promptu [2013-07-28 22:12:31 +0000 UTC]

Oops >< it makes perfect sense now. I was trying to understand the image related to the paragraph below instead of above and it's bad luck for the letters ^^'.

im-promptu In reply to petiteUlis [2013-07-28 22:36:51 +0000 UTC]

Hehe yeah it is bad luck that I used soft and hard edged uwu

nelizzy In reply to petiteUlis [2013-07-28 15:41:33 +0000 UTC]

I think im-promptu was using the H and S to indicate hard shading or soft shading. Hard shading meaning a higher contrast between the two colors and soft shading meaning the two blend together very well. n v n
