I suppose this all would make sense when listening to that podcast, so I'll take your word that, yes, this picture does make sense on some level.
I am curious, though, what exactly happens in this picture... Though not "gonna watch a 35-minute video" curious, I admit...
Also... This may make me seem like a guy who isn't fond of anything, but... I am not fond of Sweetiebot either. Though this case is perhaps a bit more peculiar... I do like Sweetiebot in FiW, but all depictions of her outside of FiW just don't do it for me. Again, not sure why...

Do you mean visual depictions? Or just generally the character?
In my case, I don't really dig the very robotic aspect of fan drawings, but... there aren't many other ways (if any at all) to show that you mean to draw a robot than to make it explicit.
