Disclaimer: I'm not an expertI really hope this is a helpful step by step guide for someone looking to improve their emote expressions. I find that having exagerated facial features helps a lot with static emotes, as there is no movement. (And sorry if there are typos)

I usually keep mine pretty simple, but i might try this idea out, seeing as i am trying to improve. also i agree about the outer border color, i almost always use that for my faces.

I think a few experienced emoticonists use that colour It really does work better in my opinion

This is actually quite a useful tutorial, just for facial expressions It does a really good job at outlining the key features in expressions
And it resulted in a darn cute emote <3
