Description
2nd African scavenger of the week! These may also look like birds, but do not let looks deceive for in reality they are beaked lizards.3 adult Mockbeaks spot on a recently fallen creature. The Adult Mockbeaks (which stay together in family groups) carry 2 younger ones and an infant in their beaks as they sprint up to the soon-to-be meal. As they tear flesh away from the corpse, they give out portions to the younger ones, and start feasting on the rest. Every now and then, one of the young ones will try to sneak a piece from the adults, which is soon met with a hiss as it sprints back to their original scrap of meat they share with the others. When they are old enough to roam alone, they will be able to eat directly from the corpse and find a mate and start a new family group to scour the sparse African terrain for more carrion, but right now under their parents supervision and safety they shall enjoy life. Their long beaks help make sure they don't get any blood on them when picking organs from inside the beast.
A Gohstump lurks in the background heaving its massive body ever-closer. The Mockbeaks will have to scurry away soon.
Scientific names will be temporarily on hold for now.
