The year is 3000. The human race is very mechanized. That does not only mean that tasks once thought to never be able to be taken by machines are, but also that nearly all humans have genetically and mechanically modified bodies. Overpopulation is not that much of a problem, but conservation of land and resources is, as colonies, settlements, cities, and civilizations coat the whole planet like a sheet of snow and all non-renewable resource areas have been sucked dry. 99% of life on earth that was alive in 2,000 ย (except microorganisms) is now extinct. the human race relies on artificially made air and building materials to deal with this, but life is still difficult.ย

The year is 8,000. All life, not counting bacteria, viruses, protists, etc. has died out except for humans. Small settlements dot the solar system, but Earth and Mars are by far the most populated, Earth having a population of 17 billion people and Mars having a population of 3 billion people. Humans have become almost completely mechanized, their whole bodies have become metal domes with a few organic organs inside. The main goal of Earth (the self-proclaimed "human species hub" of the solar system) is to find a way to cleanly mechanize the human brain and understand it, so they can modify it and create a human super-species that will colonize and understand the universe.

The year is 9,600. The "brain code" has been cracked and the first tests to create the super species have started. Project "Utopian Gods", which is the main interest of Earth, has started off well, producing humans that can contemplate at age 12 what scientists only a few hundred years ago spent lifetimes working on. The Utopian Gods are introduced to the Earth population, and in a span of months, 80% of humans have been replaced by these enhanced versions, mostly through brain modification of the normal humans (which at this time still means the metallic spheres) and the genocide of them, which sometimes whole communities agree to, which shows at what lengths the Earth people will go to conform, including mass suicide and a complete re-wiring of what makes not only your personality, but what makes you human.

The year is 10,000. The Utopian Gods have completely overthrown human civilization across the solar system and set up a new hypergovernment of Utopian Gods to rule the solar system. The old-version humans were for the most part okay with this, especially the citizens of Earth. The Utopian Gods, while different, were still very human. They were just "better versions". The species has divided into sectors because of these brain modifications. There are workers, thinkers, explorers, leaders, and much, much more. In this Orwellian society, it is very rare to just be an "average civilian". ย You are born fully mature. you are assigned your job the minute you are born and start your job at around 2 weeks after your birth, and within those 2 weeks you are being modified to suit your job. You do your job, being assigned a new one every 12,000 years or so, until you die at the age of about 70,000.

The year is 300,000. ย The earth has been completely scrapped to make Utopian Gods, cities, transportation ships, and other stuff. Some other planets have been withered and dulled to a dwarf size too, cities hovering over them like spiderwebs. Earth is just a hollow sphere of cities and settlements, all held together by intricate engineering. The sudden loss of gravity did not effect the Utopian Gods much, which have an extremely low population as it does not take much to keep a civilization spanning across the solar system intact (for them), and because there is no such thing as "existing for nothing" in this culture, meaning they have just enough "people" to keep their civilization intact, and you are only born if there is a job open. Human civilization has lost all traces of culture or opinion, or even emotion. Constant carving and sculpting of the brain which aimed to make a "perfect forever-civilization" has not made a civilization at all, just robots following self-inflicted orders for millennia to keep a civilization running. nothing less, nothing more.

The year is 1 Million (1,000,000). Things have gone smoothly so far for the never-resting, monotone Utopian Gods. The last few decades however, have sparked difficulties. Aย meteoroid has hit Earth, the main hub for producing Utopian Gods and keeping the homeostasis of civilization intact. Most of what was left of the spiderweb-like colony was useless debris, and the other stuff was too scattered for practical use. A shriveled earth was revealed at that moment, only about the size of Pluto. The Utopian Gods, having no emotions and only a dry worldview decided they needed to rebuild the hub as soon as possible. There was one problem, however. The plan was to scrap a few billion Utopian Gods to make a new hub around the Pluto sized Earth-chunk. The problem was, there was just enough Utopian Gods to take care of the solar system, and none could be spared. It was at that moment, the first inย nine hundred ninety thousand years (990,000) that they realized one major flaw they had. they lacked creativity. This hit the Utopian God community rather hard, they realized theyย were not the "perfect beings" that their makers and themselves hoped for, and they collectivelyย decided that they all needed to be replaced by another civilization. They wanted to start from scratch, not only so they can monitor and tweak the evolution and abiogenisis of new life, but so they could also make sure no impurities happened, so they could truly become perfect. Once a sapient civilization had been evolved, they would modify them to become perfect, which meant not only self sustaining, but the ability to think "outside the box", so to speak. The Utopian Gods would make sure opinions and emotions were dulled as much as possible, as to not spark wars or conflict, but to keep creativity and the intricate thinking aspects.

They had to start from scratch because there was no trace of any biological life left, including in the Utopian Gods themselves. DNA was nothing but a forgotten chemical, stored deep inside the artificial brain of the Utopian Gods for later use. The use for this knowledge, of DNA, evolution, geography, biology, and physics, has been mostly dormant for almost a million years, but has now been awakened. The Utopian Gods started monitoring the universe and looking for planets that could support and create Earth-like life. If there was one that matched, it was slightly terraformed and made with the conditions of early Earth, along with extra ingredients to stimulate life. If it was an almost match, the same steps were taken but just with extra terraforming. If it was not Earth-like at all, it was harvested and turned into an Earth-like planet, and sometimes made into more Utopian Gods to help in this quest. The goal to make a species which could think in an imaginative way is not to be mistaken for initiative, eagerness, or determination, which no Utopian God can feel, but should be taken more as a "job to be done in order to keep civilization going".

The year is 4 Billion (4,000,000,000). This "World-building culture" the Utopian Gods have started has produced no results, except for one planet, named "FirstOne". The Utopian God population has fluctuated throughout the millennia, but it has kept its task going for an impressive time. The planet FirstOne sparked interest in the Utopian God community when abiogenisis had occurred, but it was left alone for about a billion years as part of protocol. They were only to make minor tweaks in evolutionary paths based on what was calculated to be the most promising route for the most promising species. The real major modifications and first contact were to be made when the species seemed fully capable to think in the ways aimed for by the Utopian Gods. One species, the 3 leggers (pictured above), evolved a few million years ago and have recently achieved technology comparable to humans of the 2000's. They have similar lifespans as humans and their years are a bit longer. Most of their culture had been woven around the "moving stars" in the sky, being the root of nearly all religions and cultures. They had no idea that these are not natural objects, and many physics laws of the universe and mathematical equations describing the universe had been made around them. Despite this handicap, the 3 leggers had made it to a mature civilization and technology, albeit having a somewhat immature culture. A few decades ago, they launched the first object into space: a pod full of 3 leggers, aiming to map, study, and explain the ever-changing skies. About 30 years ago, after several tries, they shot down a Utopian God with the purpose to study it. Once it landed, it was clear to them that this was not natural, even though they had a hard time accepting it at first. This moment will be known as the "Realization moment", and we will count it as 0 AC (0 human years after contact (human years being your typical 365 days)).ย

The year is 50 AC. The 3 leggers have reverse-engineered the Utopian God and have enhanced their technology a hundred-fold. They are in the process of re-writing basic laws of physics and the universe that had been corrupted by their interest in the Utopian Gods. The 3 leggers are very interested in the origins of them, and the reason they are doing what they are doing. Since 0 AC, they have brought down more than 50 Utopian Gods of 4 different designs. The other Utopian Gods do not mind this much - if they even notice - and continue their jobs.ย

The year is 200 AC. The 3 leggers have long known that the Utopian Gods are the reason for their existence, and ย that they have been guiding their evolution. The reason, they do not know, but they are finding out more things every year. The 3 leggers technology has skyrocketed and ย increased beyond imagination and they use this to research these mysterious machines. Their leading theory is that they were built by a past 3 legger race that went extinct, and the machines are attempting to re-create their culture. They never would have imagined that the Utopian Gods were not simple machines, but organisms-turned-mechanical, and that the 3 leggers were nothing but lab mice in their grand plan.

Th year is 400 AC. The 3 leggers are captivated by the Utopian Gods still, and have pursued the same objective: world-building. They hope that by doing what the Utopian Gods are doing, they could learn more about why they are doing this. This might seem a bit over-dramatic, to base ones whole existence and civilization on these mechanical hulks, but finding out the reason they exist is the equivalent of the long-gone humans aspiration to find out the meaning of life and the universe. In this world-building process, the 3 leggers have created a planet which has sprung life, a planet called RR-2936. Seeing this, the 3 leggers decided they needed to take evasive action to keep the planet safe, like a cradle. Project "Immortal parents" was planned and begun. "Immortal Parents" helped the 3 leggers watch over the planet more easily by giving themselves a much, much greater lifespan.ย

The year is 1,000 AC. Project "Immortal parents" has resulted in a whole race of 3 leggers that do not resemble their ancestors even a bit. These refer to themselves are the "Guardians". Similar to what the humans did, the 3 leggers have completely artificialized themselves and are now just mechanical, spider-like creatures. They nudge evolution of the microscopic lifeforms ever so slowly towards sapience, mimicking the Utopian Gods in an effort to understand them. ย More wisely than the humans, the Guardians have kept some of the 3 leggers original DNA for later use, which is just the type of thinking that the Utopian Gods were hoping to create.ย

The year is 2.7 Billion AC (2,700,000,000). No sapient life forms have been achieved yet, but the Guardians have chosen to awake the 3 leggers because the life has become complex enough for genetic modification. A 3 legger, named "UptoC", has visited RR-2937, and is attempting to feed a creature referred to as a Ghorgops. Utopian Gods buzz around in the sky, for there is no planet in the galaxy that does not witness their work (this moment is what the picture above is depicting). UptoCs plan is to capture it and genetically engineer it to make a sentient species. A few decades later, UptoC and fellow 3 leggers have successfully made a sentient species out of the Ghorgops. The 3 leggers do not see what doing this achieves for the Utopian Gods, so the sentient Ghorgops, called, appropriately, "The Disappointments" are kept underground and forgotten, and the 3 leggers go back to trying to crack the code of the Utopian Gods.ย

The year is ~2.7 Billion AC (2,700,000,000) At this time, the Utopian Gods decide it is time to crown the 3 leggers and Guardians as the new leaders of the human race, after some major modifications. An unprecedented abduction of all 3 leggers and guardians took place and have been modified past recognition. the Utopian Gods have told the 3 leggers their story, from the stone age to now. The modified 3 leggers/Guardians, now referred to as Neohumans, have accepted to keep their legacy going. The Utopian Gods let the Neohumans scrap them to make cities and different machines. The Neohumans, as the Utopian Gods hoped, created a perfect civilization, balancing order and culture, and while opinions and any conflict-causing emotions, were stunted, the Neohuman empire fluctuated between bad and good times, but never beyond being able to be fixed. The Dream of the humans and Utopian gods was finally fulfilled. The Neohuman empire stretched across the whole galaxy, and the monotonous way of living the Utopian Gods once lived resumed, but this time, as the Utopian Gods hoped to achieve, it was accompanied by creative ways of thinking, and the Neohumans were always coming up with solutions to problems that would have rendered the Utopian Gods extinct. Everything was perfect. Humans have dominated the universe, maybe not directly, but their legacy will be known forever...

The year is 10 Billion AC (10,000,000,000). The "Disappointments" ย have woken up from their slumber due to the accidental destruction of their planet by the Neohumans. The Disappointments, confused and afraid, sought for a parental-type of guidance from the Neohumans. This offer was rejected, and the Neohumans committed a genocide on the Disappointments. But the genocide was sloppy. A few escaped, and vowed to end the Neohuman empire. A few million years later, when this message was long forgotten by the Neohumans, the Disappointments suddenly appeared from their hideout at the edge of the galaxy. The Disappointments were not the same toddler-like species the Neohumans had encountered a few millennia back, this time they were loaded with weapons, and did not see the Neohumans as parents.ย

The year is 11.5 Billion AC (11,500,000,000). After a billion and a half year long war, the Neohuman empire has been reduced to 1/4 of its once grand size. and the Disappointments, now calling themselves "The Plague" have grown more than a billion-fold in number, and constantly commit endless genocides of the Neohumans. They crush whole solar-system colonies and empires by detonating supernova bombs, which, once placed, ย produce millions of supernovas every second for several hours, and spread more supernova bombs in the process like a virus. The future in not looking well for the Neohumans, but they are fighting back. The Plague has been drastically reduced in number and the Neohumans are using the supernova bombs to their advantage by disabling them and detonating them in Plague colonies.

The year is 23 Billion AC (23,000,000,000). The war has been going on for such a long time, that they have forgotten what they are fighting about, but that does not hinder them, for the Neohumans and the Plague kill because they are being killed. The upper hand in the war has fluctuated in the past 2 dozen billion years, but recently the odds have been in the Neohumans favor. There are only about 700 billion Plagues left while there are almost 5 trillion Neohumans. The war seems to be coming to an end, with the Neohumans on top. But right then, the Plague used their most powerful weapon: the Vacuum Decay Bomb. This bomb was used, and the effect on the universe was similar to dropping a match in a lake of oil. The whole universe collapsed, the Plague went extinct, along with every Neohuman, every star, every galaxy and every planet, dust cloud, and every alien civilization that wasn't killed in the universe-wide war. The whole universe ended. There was nothing.ย
