Description
Well, here we go again!Part two of the commercial series that Humouring the Fates created for Spike TV. I'm pretty happy with the work we did here, and I'm glad that this time I can set you cats up with a link to the animated work this time, rather than just a few screenshots. Check it out:

This should be airing on Spike TV along with it's first half for the next several weeks in increasing increments... I generally find it right at the end of a commercial break, tied to just about any show on the network. And yeah, it was fun to animate Sam Jackson, but his face is really hard to draw... he's got some difficult features to capture.
I didn't do this alone, of course... personally I drew the keyframes and designed the characters, but I have to work out much of the motion for me first in red pencil, which helps a great deal. He's also the inbetweening machine, he's become pretty awesome at keeping up with my complex characters.
I didn't do much involving the colors (that's game), and I had no part in the backgrounds, lighting, 3D effects or textures (but did), but I drew all of the tracers, gun blasts, ricochets and those lasers that cut into the plane's wing. And all of the post work and audio was done off-site, which includes a lot of "camera" movement and special effects.
So... yeah! This is how we roll.

Now, what software are you guys using again? And is it digital or traditional animation?

We use the RETAS software family, which consists of several modules. We hand-draw every frame on punched bond, then scan, process and paint in-system... which is about as traditional as it gets, nowadays, I think. All our backgrounds in this particular work were created in Maya and 3DS Max, though, and the line gets blurrier all the time.

That's awesome man!! Congratulations on your success!! Spike TV is a huge network. I guess you are a really established artist. Hope I'll be able to reach that level. And if not, I'll just continue doing it for the fun of it.
Congrats again!!
