It had started simply enough.
With a book.
A very important book.
Especially to her specific research.

She had looked everywhere.
For weeks the damned thing had alluded her.

In the end she had found out that it was to be found in “the library”.
That was all it had said.
The library.

She had tried asking which library, but it had just been repeated to her that it was in THE LIBRARY.
She had tried requesting the bookcase number at least, but she had been told that there was no open information about this, and that the book had to be ordered.
At the counter.
In the library.
Which library?
THE LIBRARY.

More explanation had not been necessary.
Because of course she had known what library they meant.
She had wished it not to be so, though.

And now, here she was, talking to a random centaur…
In the library.

- Are you lost too?
- Oh, in the long run we are all lost in the library.
- …
- …
- I am looking for De Principiis Mundi, by Eickhard van der Gelding.
- “On the principles of the world”, huh… the original, or the translation?
- You know it?

The gaze of the centaur suggested that not only did she know it, she had read it. Both versions.

- … the translation?
- Ok, that is in the philosophy department. It is locked up, since the book itself is rather frail… but if you can give them a good enough reason as to why you need it… It is about a days march that way.

A days march, the centaur had said…

- And take care not to get caught up in the bog.

Before she had passed her.
Crossed her way and kept going in the opposite direction.

- are you going home?
- Not sure.
- But I thought you knew your way around here?

A tired smile had spread itself over the centaurs lips.

- oh I do… I most certainly do. And yet… good luck.
