Description This is the final piece to my Who Censored Roger Rabbit? fanart collection. Each image depicts the short lifespan of Roger's doppelganger. In the book, doppelgangers r clones that toons create by using their minds to use as something like a fall guys (and gals) or a stunt double to do the impossible stunts toon do in cartoons (like getting shot, blown up, squashed, squeezing in small and tight spaces, and other violent and cartoony physical abuse). Toon making a doppelganger and seeing it get killed or disappearing is like someone cutting off hair or a toe or fingernail off and throwing it in the trash or anywhere else. But, there's a catch. The doppelgangers also last up to a couple of mins or seconds depending on the toons' brain span and doppelganger energy he puts into the doppelganger in the book... Hold on~!!!

*WARNING: SPOILER ALERT~ IF U DON'T WISH TO KNO WHAT HAPPENS IN THE BOOK AFTER ROGER'S DEATH, THEN JUST ENJOY THE PIECE, COMMENT, OR FAVORITE IT IF U LIKE. BUT, I DOUBT THAT THIS SPOILER WOULD RUIN UR READING EXPERIENCE BECAUSE, IN THIS NOVEL, THERE R MORE TWISTS AND TURNS THAN A HIGHWAY IN CALIFORNIA. TRUST ME!!!! U WON'T MISS A THING.*

Anyway, in the novel, Before Roger was shot down by an unknown assailant (which u can see here: insaneasylum123.deviantart.com… , he created a 48-hour lasting doppelganger (to see reason, check out the book), which is the longest time that a doppelganger ever has to live in, that helps Eddie Valient solve the case of his murder and the murder of a Hollywood cartoon and comic book producer. The first image is Roger's doppelganger tearfully begging and pleading Eddie for help to solve his murder and to clear his (sorta ex) wife, Jessica Rabbit's, name from his frame up. The second image is Roger's doppelganger's nose coming off and he's trying to fix it with rubber glue and tape after Eddie helps him get a lead in the case of his murder. The third image is Roger's sad and slow demise. His doppelganger's 48 hours was up after the case was solved and slowly turns into dust. But, before deteriorating into dust, he reaches his hand out (which falls off along with his tail and face) to thank Eddie for solving his case. He turns into dust, along with his speech bubble, and Eddie opens the window of his office to let the wind swift Roger's dust away....

It's a pretty sad ending to a goodhearted (but confused) toon. But, don't worry, folks. Roger will always live on in the mind of Gary K. Wolf, the movies and media he's featured in, and, most importantly, the hearts of every adoring fan, young or old.

I based Roger's design more closer to the movie's design of him only with out the yellow polka dotted bow-tie, yellow gloves, white fur, and red overalls than in my original design (insaneasylum123.deviantart.com… that I based off the description from listening to the audio book. I was sorta messing around and fooling with Roger's design for a bit for some reason. OH YEAH~!!! So I could see if I could combine his movie design with the novel's description. I first tried to do this in my older piece (insaneasylum123.deviantart.com… when I tried to make Roger more shorter than he was in the novel (6 foot tall by height ~probably counting the 18 inch ears) and I tried to make his feet more bigger (with the shoes on) like they were in the book. In the next piece I did featuring Roger, I made his head more slimmer, his eyes bigger, and torso and arms more skinnier, and his pants bigger and baggier like in the Disney movie's version (insaneasylum123.deviantart.com… . In this version, I made him look more and more like the Disney version of Roger. I even gave him more hair like the Disney version.

I maybe done with the collection of artwork based off the novel, but don't worry. They'll be more Roger Rabbit themed artworks based around the book, Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit?, and probably from my own imagination also including help from and to make it all possible. Anyway, I hope u guys love this piece. I'll be back with more soon, Guys.

Very nice work, nice sequel to the movie.

Yet with Eddie's 5 inch girlfriend who is Jessica's twin sister, do you think he could get a toon scientist to make a potion to make her life size so he can romance her and marry her?

It would have make a lot of sense. Lol And it would have made for also an interesting subject matter of "interracial marriage" given the time period that both the book and the movie where set in.

As always, excellent work! You are really able to visualize how I think.  Since I'm on the inside of my head looking out, and know what kind of convoluted stuff goes on inside there, that's a very tough process indeed.

Thanx u so very much. That really means a lot coming from u. =W= I really try to capture the characters in my artworks and try to get inside the head of their creator (sorta speak). I might start back making artworks from ur Roger Rabbit works. I've even thought about a weird idea to crossover Roger Rabbit with a player from ur other book, Killerball, or have Roger wear a uniform like on some of the Killerball covers. My mind is swimming with ideas and not a exact way to put them on paper. But, I hope to find some more inspiration soon.

OMG~!!! Thanx. I was just looking at ur Roger Rabbit pieces not too long along and I really loved them. They, for some reason, really remind me of the Roger from the novel the way they're drawn. ^^ Very nice!
