Wow! Beautiful compostition, I love shots of white and blue flowers particularly in a drak green setting. :] Im currently doing an oil pastel picture of a blue flower on a black background. Its coming along nicely and should be up soon.

Thank you. I deliberately did not correct color balance or dynamic range, so as to preserve the softness of the tones. The actual lilies grow about 8 feet tall. Did you see the rare Himalayan Blue Poppy? [link]
I look forward to seeing your blue flower. Oil Pastels are a nice media to work in, giving rich colors. If you scan it or photograph it, remember that you almost always need to adjust it in Photoshop to get it took look like the original.

By adjusting scans, I was referring to Levels adjustment to correct color bias and dynamic range. Sometimes a little dodging and burning is needed if there are any dark or light areas from the art not being perfectly flat, or or from aging of the scanner. Scanning typically also blurs the art a bit, so unsharp Masking as a last step is typically needed.

Thank you so much. I am at your page a lot, but it is a surprise to see you here, kind of hero figure that you are. It looks like you have taken a new creative turn. I have been struggling on a day by day thing for some weeks, so I am woefully behind, but I am hopeful of catching up with your work soon. I think you are an amazing artist. All the best...
Oh, and there is a very short poem that might be right up your (something I wrote awhile ago): [link]
