Description NOTE: If you're wondering about the Gumball symbols, read the meaning here .

As I've seen many other people do scorecards known as "Movies I've Seen Scorecard", I'd like to join in with this. This scorecard is pretty much different from all my other scorecards because here, instead of me reviewing cartoons, I voice my opinion on several movies I watched and reviewed over the years (technically, there are cartoons in this scorecard but not those that premiered on television).

Now you're wondering about plenty of things about this scorecard; what's with the seasonal borders? Well, the years indicate the year I critiqued the movie in. For example, in 2017, I reviewed Star Wars: the Last Jedi. The reason why I don't split these movies into the years they respectively released in is because updating the scorecard will only get messy. By messy, I mean dragging a lot of the title cards and the ratings the movies were given around whenever I want to update the scorecard with an old movie I reviewed. This would only get me lost especially with the ratings.

Secondly, what am I going to do with the movie when I release a scorecard including that film? Simple, I just cut the movie and rating out of this scorecard. This applies to movies part of franchises or film companies I was thinking about doing a scorecard on in the future (ex. Avengers: Infinity War would be in a Marvel Cinematic Universe scorecard while the Rugrats movies and The Wild Thornberrys Movie would belong in a Nickelodeon Movies scorecard but that's another story). After all, this is a miscellaneous scorecard that just shows some movies I've reviewed that aren't part of any other scorecard. It's the same deal as dragging all the title cards and ratings around, but I'd say it's less messy than doing said action by year movie was released in because I don't have to do much research comparing the release dates of other films. Essentially, when a scorecard containing the same movie from this scorecard comes out, then the title card of the film will be deleted from this scorecard and be moved over to the other scorecard.

Also, why couldn't I just include movies from other scorecards into this scorecard? Again, it's a miscellaneous scorecard, meaning it'll only include scorecards that don't fit into other scorecards as of today. Plus, including all the movies for a planned or announced scorecard in this scorecard will only spoil the surprise of that scorecard.

Thirdly, why didn't I include TV movies? Good question. Since they premiered on television, I would just link that TV movie to the show the film is related to. If the TV movie isn't related to any show, then...I honestly don't know what to do with it. I mean, I intend this scorecard to only include theatrical and direct-to-video releases, so I guess that's a reason why I don't include TV movies. Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon have original movies that technically premiered on TV while at the same time have a limited release in theaters.

The scorecard looks pretty small and I know that it looks small because when it comes to movies, that's actually a lot. Think about it, a movie is much longer than a typical TV episode (which lasts around 22 minutes) while a movie (typically ranging from 90-120 minutes) has a lot of minutes in it. I even did the math for all the movies I reviewed and see how many minutes all of their running time combined makes and divide them by the length of a normal TV episode. It looks like 4-5 TV episodes make up a movie so when comparing how the amount of TV episodes make up a film to a normal movie itself, this scorecard would've consisted more than 150 episodes if the movies were broken up into episodes.

Since I've seen movies that have similar problems with plenty of other cartoons I've seen part of my canonized scorecards, I began to see that some of these movies have Gumball Syndrome just like said shows, which is why you see the seal on this scorecard. So far, eight movies I've seen appear to have Gumball Syndrome.

And lastly, I know that some of the title cards of some movies are either the trailer title cards or potato-captured, but since they're brand new in theaters, I may need to wait awhile for either the actual movie ones or one in a higher quality since they're the target titles I'm looking for.

HISTORY

Yes, I have a history with some of these movies. I will go into detail with each movie I reviewed in this scorecard, but talking about each one will make the description too long. You can talk to me about what were my experiences with the movie before and when I reviewed it.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

SOURCES

I don't often watch movies in theaters than I often do back then, but the movies I remember seeing when screened on the big screen were Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Avengers: Infinity War. Those were the movies I saw in theaters while at the same time review them. It does come off as a challenge to me simply because I have to face kids or babies cry while the movie is screening and that is a tad irritating but I did my best to focus on what's happening on the movie.

For the movies I streamed online, it does include several of them but on different sources. They include:

  • Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000 (YouTube)
  • The Rugrats Movie (Netflix)
  • Rugrats in Paris: the Movie (Amazon Prime)

Then there are the other movies me and my family streamed at home...on our TV. Some of them are:

  • Gremlins (Netflix)
  • Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (Amazon Prime)
  • Amélie (Hulu)
  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Google Play)

I see that you finally saw all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films. Since you gave the first two films the same rank and seal, which one would you prefer over the other?

Also, what are some of the saving graces in Cats that prevent you from calling the film a trainwreck like the majority consensus?

Intrancity In reply to AnimationFan15 [2020-01-04 20:12:25 +0000 UTC]

In retrospect, the first movie was more mean-spirited than the second, which was tamer but that was when the franchise got more boring and generic, which lead to how awful Dog Days was.

Cats was almost a mixed bag, to be honest. From what I've seen, the visual effects looked nice (better than the musical's makeup) plus the spectacles, proportions, sets, and some of the performances and songs, more specifically Taylor Swift and "Beautiful Ghosts".

Obvious that a cartoon reviewer like you appreciated Welcome to Marwen.

You might want to stick around for why I liked the latter movie 10 more days from now. That review is part of a nuke I'm doing throughout this month.
