The Daleks were a creature from the long-running British series 'Doctor Who'. They were mechanical tanks driven by deranged mutants and so they went around the universe violently EX-TER-MIN-ATE-ing people.'Doctor Who' was put on indefinite hiatus in 1989 because, quite frankly, the series jumped the shark a decade earlier. BUT a new series of 'Doctor Who' is coming out in 2005 and there is currently a competition to redesign the Daleks. You can see what they originally looked like with a simple Google Image Search.
I did this almost completely in Photoshop with the aid of illustrator for some bits.

I agree the logo is reminicent of the Metropolis movie. Makes me think Rocketeer or Sky Captain . awesome .

While I really like the Dalek's design here, oddly enough, I like the redone Doctor Who logo even more. For some reason, I think it would fit Paul McGann's series the best. *8th doctor.*

Way cool. Can't say I ever saw the show though, I was too young. I love the design and the white laser/fireball looking thing coming out of it. That is my favorite part. Awesome job.
