Description
In my previous version I included a girl in the image. She didn't really belong in there, she was out of proportion - this was done intentionally to an extend because I wanted her to be stylized. She was also pretty rigid... let this be a lesson to use a model when possible. So she's been replaced with trees. The kind of trees that dot the coastline here anyway. This revised edition is more cohesive in terms of style... speaking of which the 1930's influence was noted and so I've adjusted the date to match that.
All too often the past is ignored and its style and flavour forgotten in the fray of modern slickness and glossiness. It's important to look at where we've been stylistically speaking in order to know what remains appealing well beyond when a piece of work is made.
Do you think those abstract renders will be appealing to you 5-10 years down the road? Perhaps about as appealing as snap-on neon wrist bands. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Wow, I love the style of this...alot different from anything I've seen. The waves look fantastic, so cruly and flowing so well together. Beautiful piece!

Well, as a resident of Victoria, this image obviously has a special appeal to me. It definitely has the clean windy feeling that you get walking to the shore at this time of year (when it isn't raining of course).
I really like the smooth, curvy style. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how well the sun meshes with the style. I think the slean geometric form shape of the sun and associated rings could work, but I think it would be improved if it either blended in with the style better somehow, or represented the harsh glaring quality of the sun at this time of year by bing simpler but whiter and brighter.

there are some shadow issues, like some being backwards but it looks good anyways
