Commission for , who wanted to see their Cherrim OC getting all big and doing some unintentional problems to this city; don't get too worried, she's just playing around, I've seen more destruction from Kaijus in comparison, the city is gonna be just fine.... we hope.....lmao
As you can see, this piece is the first comic page I posted here; it was originally gonna be a single image but after the commissioner wanted to see more after showing them my rough doodles, we came to an agreement and so here is! I hope to make more of this kind of sequences; notice Cherrim gets bigger with each subsequent panel. Oh, and I need to practice more with buildings, they can get a bit tricky some times lol.

Hehe, no worries about the city, it will be just like in Power Rangers/Super Sentai, in which cities get rebuild entirely every week after a monster fight in an impressive way, so any damage will be non-existent in just a couple of days lmao
And thanks ^^ I still need to practice with buildings, especially with windows since they kill me when drawing them lol but yeah, cities are an interesting environment to interact with through artworks.
This particular Cherrim will grow and grow and consume the sun in her path to greatness; careful Solgaleo, your "beast that devours the sun" may be granted to this big Cherrim instead lmao

and yeah, watching cities getting destroyed in most shows just feels so odd to me, like the immediate thought is "WHOS GONNA PAY FOR ALL THIS???"Β Β gotta give props to Dragon Ball Z, Goku at least made sure to fight Vegeta in a desolate land kek (and well we know that the whole planet is blow a couple of times but hey! they still tried)
city backgrounds are the absolute most insane type of backgrounds to get right, Im mortified to even attempt it, Imma go back to mystery dungeon where most things are sort of fantasy like and its ok to not make city like villages and towns lol

Haha yeah, it seems saiyans are more conscious about the damage they could provoke, unlike superheroes in Marvel and DC movies, in which they chose to fight on densely populated areas for heaven's sake! I mean, quarries are just there people lmao
Drawing buildings is basically doing geometry but with lots of details and perspectives haha, but good thing you can make them rubble if you want to add a bit of action into them lol

yeah man I've seen so many buildings wrecked in media I don't even know what to feel anymore, Id like to feel some sort of horror when a tower falls (sounds kinda bad because of 911 but thats actually what a tower falling feels like, its fucking horrifying)
I do miss geometry classes, perspective is one heck of a fun thing to learn, but so so hard to master!

Totally, lots of movies don't dare to show the aftermath of the destruction, especially in blockbusters and such.
Oh and yes! Taking pictures is one good way to get references for both perspective and lighting, playing with cameras is quite enjoyable to get some good refs ^^
