To add context to this picture and why the characters are here, it's because it's timeframe is after this part:

What has happened is that a monstrous sized Pokemon called Xinaosura has arrived to the city. And as the Behemoth's figure covers the entire metropolis under its shadow, Ash and company are inside the main and tallest tower, but cannot escape. Ash is picked up but Iris manages to escape through other means (Her Dragonite) and she manages to arrive to one of the nearby forests that are filled with lots of Pokemon in it. Once the night comes in, Ash finally locates her, but it's only a matter of time before the massive creature that looms above them finslly decides to act...

I experimented with getting that dark yet bright ambience that fits a night where the moon shines the most and I used those light features to make Iris, Unfezant and the rest of the small Pokemon in the picture to pop out in the ambience in where they are ^^
