Description

Surrounded by mountains and forests, a city full of glass buildings shines at the center of the valley. But suddenly, the landscape is covered by a great shadow belonging to a mysterious and strange shape. An inmense creature, similar looking to a horseshoe crab, has suddenly appeared over the city and the mountains, dwarfing them with its incredible size. The creature releases its tentacle-like tendrils, as they slide through the buildings and reach the tallest tower of the town. Everybody is in awe and panic, no one knows what are the intentions this being has on us. What and who is this being...?

Fully coloured and shaded commission for who wanted me to make a piece of his fakemon. This is Xinaosura, a bug/psychic pokemon of inmense size who came from the unknown worlds of the cosmos. Despite its intimidating looks, it's actually very friendly. It wants to communicate with other beings, but due to its alien nature, it has some unfortunate effects on Earth's inhabitants, since its tendrils have the side effect of brainwashing other people. Despite this, Xinaosura doesn't have any nefarious intentions.

As the commissioner talked to me about this fakemon's backrground, it also seemed a nice opportunity to do something different. I added a bit of film grain with Gimp in order to make it look like the screenshot of a movie that you would watch in cinemas (You can see the image without grain here: sta.sh/0a2mfraib3d ). There are lots of things that make this creature very interesting, one of them is that its ladybug-like shell is covered with craters instead of spots, remember this pokemon travels through space. Its tails also tend to change colours depending of its mood.
