At first I was like, "why ya'll hating on Diamond crusher so much" but then I realized I hadn't really explained the reason why he's such a jerk and now I'm like "whoops my bad"
Also, yes! Baby Diamond used to have freckles!

Diamond gave a giggle as his father tossed him onto the bed, playfully snarling and growling as they wrestled.

"But I don't want to go to sleep! Auntie Twilight's coming over!"

"Hey, she'll still be here in the morning, so try to get some sleep kiddo"

Diamond Crusher bit his dad's claw, trying to buy his time.

"No! Auntie said she'd get me a present when she came over!"

Chuckling, Spike tucked the small kirin into bed, gently but firmly keeping Diamond into place.

"If you behave yourself and go to sleep, I promise we'll all go out for doughnuts tomorrow"

Diamond Crusher grinned. Doughnuts were his favorites after all.

"It's a deal!"

Diamond woke up with a start in the night. Throat parched and exhausted, he weakly called out for one of the servants.

"Mrs. Breeze!! Solar?? Mr.Birdam...?"

They must be asleep, Diamond thought to himself. No need to wake them then, he'd just get it himself.
Softly treading down the large stairs, Diamond Crusher heard soft voices in the living room, soon realizing that they belonged to his dear father and auntie twilight!

Smiling to himself, he almost reached the end of the stairs when his father gave a angry mutter.

"-no one's giving her a chance"

Diamond froze. He never heard his father use that tone of voice before.

"Just yesterday Rarity's boutique was covered in grafitti, and ponies are smirking at us whenever they think we're not looking"

Spike gave a sigh.

"Things have been getting worse since Diamond came along, all these racists, and pureblood pony fanatics.."

Diamond quickly hid behind the wall just in time to dodge his father; One of his massive claws hitting the wall, shattering a wall scone.

"If I knew what they would do to Rarity I would've reconsidered getting Diamond in the first place!"

Widened eyes traced Spike from the wall behind, and soon Diamond found himself backing away, soon retreating to his room.

Twilight glared at Diamond's father.

"You know that isn't true Spike!"

Spike groaned and held his head in his claws, angry with himself that he let his emotions get carried away.

"I know.. I know.. I just... it's just that.. seeing Rarity so depressed.. I just can't.."

Twilight soon covered him with one of her wings, silently comforting her old assissant.

"Shhh.. it's okay to be angry.."

Spike and Twilight retired for the night, exchanging goodnights as they went their seperate ways; when Spike noticed the wall behind him had small claw marks on them.
